I chose "gestalt" as my word for this challenge; the idea of the whole being more than the sum of its parts.

Three Sampleson Meta Pianos playing the same melody, only the first plays the melody over 4 bars, the second plays the same melody but over 3 bars, and the third plays it over 2.5 bars. As the rounds continue an echo and reverb are brought to bear.

Disquiet Junto Project 0602: Choice Words
The Assignment: Make a piece of music that strives to express a specific word.

"Chiaroscuro", italian for "light-dark" [...] is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition.
I chose the word "chiaroscuro" as I find this contrast appropriate to my mood of this period of my life.

For this patch I recorded bass into Morphagene and then effected it with a bit of Mimeophon. Then I added a lead line made with ARP2600 clone into Norns Pedalboard with Phaser and Resonator, then plugged into a preamp and then to QPAS for further effects. 
The bass plays harmonics A-D-A (7-7-5 frets) and G-D-G (5-5-3 frets).
I used G double harmonic scale (G-Ab-B-C-D-Eb-F#) for the lead voice.

Leaving lots of space, using high-pass filtering and then contrasting by adding some lower stuff about midway gave me the impression of floating germs - or perhaps nuclear fallout!

Floating Blippoo X2 (disquiet0603)

An experiment in genres cross-over(Ambient, Dub, Shoegaze, Post-Rock, Trip-hop?) reaching outside the realm of my usual creative practices.

Back to my roots - playing electric bass - and exploring baritone guitar, somewhere between floating ambient guitar-scapes soaked in reverb and uplifting dub. Both of which I associate with skies/flying/up.

A shoegaze dub? Ambient dub post-rock? anyway, it’s 4:30am, i need to catch some sleep.

Minimal Piano Improv (disquiet0605)

This is much more minimal than my usual output. I’m not very good at technical terms, or explaining, but I set a slow LFO to guide a silence whilst also trying to follow a metronome that was at a slightly different time. As a result I’d trip over myself, and I found it a something meditative experience as I recorded each track to intuit what was going to happen. Repetition without total order. The constant rumble, well, I call that tinnitus. 

It was and is raining heavily outside my window as I recorded and write this, as it has done for the past two months (UK). This is the ideal way to hear it. If there’s no rain where you are, maybe run your shower and listen from the other side of the door.
