Ingredients:

500g minced veal

500g minced pork

1 egg

Salt and pepper, to taste

~50g breadcrumbs

1 finely chopped onion (optional)

A little garlic (just a bit)

1 big spoon minced parsley

Fresh thyme

1 bay leaf (laurel)

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine minced veal and pork. Add the egg, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, chopped onion (if using), garlic, and parsley.

Mix gently but thoroughly—this is not a fight.

Shape the mixture into a big, firm loaf—“like a bread,” as X says.

Press in a sprig of fresh thyme and tuck a bay leaf along the top or side.

Place the loaf in a baking dish. Do not put it too high in the oven.

Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 40 minutes, no more, no less.

Remove from oven. Let rest for a few minutes. Serve warm.

Serves: Several, but probably just you and someone lucky.

500 g kalfsgehakt

500 g varkensgehakt

1 ei

Zout en peper, naar smaak

± 50 g paneermeel

1 fijngehakte ui (optioneel)

Een beetje knoflook

1 grote eetlepel fijngehakte peterselie

Verse tijm

1 laurierblad

Bereidingswijze:

Meng in een grote kom het kalfsgehakt en het varkensgehakt. Voeg het ei, zout, peper, paneermeel, eventueel de ui, knoflook en peterselie toe.

Meng alles rustig maar goed door elkaar—je hoeft niet te kneden alsof het deeg is.

Vorm van het mengsel een stevige, grote broodvorm—zoals X zegt: “zoals een brood.”

Druk een takje verse tijm in het gehakt en steek het laurierblad aan de boven- of zijkant.

Leg het gehaktbrood in een ovenschaal. Zet niet te hoog in de oven.

Bak op 170°C gedurende 40 minuten—geen minuut meer of minder.

Haal uit de oven en laat even rusten. Serveer warm.

Voor: Meerdere personen, maar waarschijnlijk alleen jij en iemand met geluk.
