In 2018, Five Alarm Funk, the Vancouver-based world-trekking funk ensemble, collaborated with the legendary Bootsy Collins for “We Play the Funk.” Five Alarm Funk joined a dizzying list of Boosty-enhanced bands and collaborators, including James Browns’ The JBs, Parliament Funkadelic, Prince, Daft Punk, and so many more. “We Play The Funk” features the electrifying horn section assault of Five Alarm Funk and Bootsy’s undeniable bass guitar riffs and vocal magic. This one deserves all caps: FUNK.

CMC & Silenta, the exceptional funky breakbeat duo from Germany, have gotten their skilled mitts on “We Play the Funk” and remixed it for a new decade. The horns signal the start of this party over go-go style rhythms and percussion. Then the full beat comes in along with Bootsy’s funky declarations — no dancefloor within range can resist the explosive result. Five Alarm Funk, Bootsy Collins, and CMC & Silenta: a match made in funky heaven.

Boydex is back, and this time he’s brought a few funky family friends along for the ride!!

He kicks off joining forces with the legend Pecoe and new face Sully Sax to bring you ‘Push it’. This combo is perfect, and can’t get funkier, with smoooooth sax skills, stabby vocals a rolling bassline, and guitar riffs making those feet shuffle all the way through.
Next up is the title track, ‘Funk Fam’. This drops the tempo, for a bass heavy hip hop stomper celebrating the family that is FUNK!!
Now there are certain names synonymous with electric funk tracks, and Stabfinger is one of them. Boydex and Stabfinger are a perfect combo, creating a track filled with so many bass styles, yet strung together perfectly for a “hand-in-the-air" funk banger designed for nothing else than to ensure you’re glued to the dancefloor.
Now the party is going, why not add another ‘Party’ to the list. This keeps the vibe going, with its uplifting horns, flowing guitars and bass, as well as a few cheeky vocal stabs and raising strings to keep you in it.

His love for Vocoders came from influences of classic tracks from Earth Wind and Fire, Herbie Hancock, Midnight Star and more recent acts like Daft Punk. He's crafted a funky Mid-Tempo Nu-Disco tune with a synth laden Breakbeat drop for the dance floor. It's Electric Tonight!

The sounds of rain hitting the ground and thunder roaring in the distance set the vibe as Qdup's lush chords, a funky disco studded baseline and 4 to the floor beat get us grooving. Founded in 2004, the simple principal was delivering the funk with engaging music that always rocks the dance floors, regardless of genre. Started by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! It's crazy to think how much the label has grown and now works with artists and partners from around the globe. Alongside individual artist releases Bombstrike is also home to the much loved Funk n' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series, with guest curators helping the listener discover new music or unearth forgotten classics.
