Panta Rex was introduced to me due to his output on Noorden. When I moved to Cologne I was looking for people to start doing music with and Alex from Noorden introduced me to him. Soon he started to show me more of his music. 

I instantly felt in love with Dyade which is a beautiful song to end a set with that lasted the whole night and is ending when the sun is already shining again. By the way the working title of this beautiful song was dtf-uia.  

Youth in the 90s shows you where Panta Rex got his musical background from and it is a homage back to the golden times after the fall of the wall and all the never ending parties. 

Critter is a club hit with a long build-up and a drop that is unique in its own way, that lets you expect something different and it is also hitting very hard. 

Lares in the end is one of those songs that feels like an old Workshop record. House at its best and with lyrics brought onto point.

Z Axis - CCOFB is a saturated space odyssey opening beat-less with a mutating arpeggiated Moog bass and reflecting synth leads. The track unravels to the arrival of a low-cut pad, changing the atmosphere as the Rhodes piano kicks off to the welcoming arrival of the kick drum only to divert back to the reflecting synth leads, creating a mesmerising but sinister feel.

He didn't consider himself a problem solver, solutions weren't his forte, rather he found himself growing more and more confused or flustered the longer the problem remained unanswered. Thus he'd made sure he was surrounded by others that could work these conundrums out on his behalf, however big or small. From life-changing decisions to trivial everyday occurrences, he let others guide his way, no questions asked.

It's always interesting when two seemingly disparate minds come together for a release. For the first time Capracara, the mind behind music for DFA, Cómeme & Unknown To The Unknown, joins forces with SMBD  (aka Simbad), who has releases under his belt for Hyperdub, Apron and his own Modern Dialect imprint, for a three-track EP that matches their contrasting styles. Raw and rhythmic, Club Ozone kicks off with two rhythmic machine rollers that blend elements of house, industrial and dub, whilst on the flip 'The Ozone' lightens up the vibe with a twinkling dream house number.

After quite a long period of time, the hypnotic connection returns with an album from the head of the label, in which you will find exclusively live recordings from Muzikalist's laboratory, some of them were made together with his friends on different equipment. The guys constantly gathered during the last year, bringing their pieces of synths with them, smoked a little for inspiration, twisted the knobs of synthesizers and recorded all this from the master channel. It was decided to highlight some records and add them to the release. Well, here's the result, hope you like it.

STL ‘Constructive: No Words Required’ - the debut release on Boogie Box Records – gets reimagined by dub specialists Juniper, Fold and Jonas Friedlich this August.

Launched last year, Boogie Box have only put out four releases but its discography is impressive to say the least, with Shed, Forest Drive West, Komon, Pablo Mateo, Cain, Causa and Appleblim all dropping quality productions and remixes. Its debut release came from enigmatic artist STL, renowned for timeless productions on labels like Perlon, Echochord and Smallville, not to mention his own platform Something.

For its fifth release, Boogie Box enlist the talents of Meandyou duo Juniper, Aus Music’s Fold, and Molten Moods and Four Triangles’ Jonas Friedlich - who’s also appeared on The Trilogy Tapes and Permanent Vacation as Carl Gari. Each rework has been made without the availability of the original stems, resulting in a uniquely interesting approach.

Juniper delivers shuffled rhythms in their two dubs of ‘Haze & Kraze’, kicking things off using twisted blips and metallic effects in the first before a contrasting second version utilises crunchy top lines, mesmerising pads and echoing samples.

On the flip, the first take of ‘Hide &Seek’ comes from Fold, delivering heavily reverberant percussion, stereo panned reggae - influenced guitar strums and a rumbling low-end. Finally, Jonas Friedlich’s meandering take on ‘Hide & Seek’ rounds things off with a heavy, modulated bass groove and dark atmospherics.
