The musical roots of Dorade lie in the capital city of electronic music Berlin. But that is not the only thing from which you can tell that electronic beats are running in his blood. Dorade already brings along many years of experience as a DJ and producer and you can also hear it in his tracks: tech house with driving beats and funky grooves – just real club sound that makes all electronic music lovers dance. How it sounds like, you will know in September, when his new EP on Formatik Records will be released. So be excited, because in the near future you surely will hear a lot from Dorade!

Wolfgang Lohr is a Berlin based producer, composer, remixer, artist, and DJ whose career spans way back and encompasses a vast variety of different musical projects. Born in Bad Segeberg and raised in Lübeck (GER) by the Baltic Sea, where he served as a trumpeter, singer, and songwriter for the ska band “DaSKArtell” (@das-kartell).

He finally moved to Berlin in 2007 and dove right into its colorful and flourishing electro scene. Till this day he’s involved in several groups and productions, such as the Disco-House duo “DINKS” (@dinksmusik) and the Tech House outfit “Dorade” (@dorademusik), making him a mainstay of the scene who has created remixes for well known, fellow artists like Felix Jaehn, Parov Stelar, Alle Farben, The Manhattan Transfer and In-Grid.

His cover of Ray Charles’ “Hit the Road Jack” has surpassed a total of 90 million plays and has turned Lohr into one of the most sought-after Electro Swing artists worldwide, with a catalogue that now spans about 150 own tracks and remixes.

In addition to his musical endeavors, he has co-founded a Tech House label Coast Connection (@coastconnectionrecords), the “FDF” music blog (@free-download-friday), turned House-label “FDF Records”, as well as the “Electro Swing Thing” (@electroswing) label that has become a home to the versatile cross-over genre and amplifies the voices of its artists.

Thailand-based maestro, Casper, has carved out a reputation as one of the most celebrated techno and deep house acts to ever come out of Chiang Mai. His sound flows/ travels/ bounces between progressive house, tech-house, deep house, and techno but is always ever present with his trademark ‘groove’. Casper’s tracks tend to tell a story that takes his audience on a musical adventure. 

Casper’s ability to adapt and evolve has etched out his reputation in Chiang Mai’s club scene as a prominent DJ. The constant search for new sounds and experimental music has made him a crowd favourite in his own right. He has become one of the leading artists to spearhead the underground music movement in his hometown where commercial music is dominant. The lone wolf has ignored the money and fame that could have been easily achieved if he were to go mainstream. Instead, Casper chose to be to true to himself, and carry on his work as an underground DJ. 

Born in 1982, Casper started his musical career in his late teens as a hip-hop and trip-hop DJ. His major influences were the likes of DJ Shadow, RJD2, and Ninja Tunes who inspired him to the art of mixology and scratch DJing. Heavy weight artists like Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, and Fat Boy Slim slowly drew him into the electronic music era. Casper then started a new found love for break beats, jungle, drum and bass, and electro trash. It wasn’t until 2010 that the passion for techno, progressive house, minimal, and deep house started to evolve. Some of his top picks for inspiration are none other than legendary John Digweed, Boris Brejcha, Claptone, Maceo Plex, Claude VonStroke, and James Harcourt. 

In 2004, Casper initiated a project called ‘Puretek’ which transformed into an underground music label based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The project involved several brilliant local and international artists: ‘Eddy (THA), April (THA), Pisshead (THA), Tyson (UK), Jeremy (USA), Danny B (UK), and Casper (THA)’. Puretek were amongst the first to introduce unparalleled performances of underground hip-hop, break beats, tech house, deep house, and techno to the Chiang Mai underground music scene. 

Along the years, Casper has played alongside international artists: Nakadia, James What, Fish Monger, Mendi Indigo, Me & Her, Dan Buri, and Superstar Panda. His musical tour of Thailand has seen him grace the likes of Club Culture, Escudo, Reggae Bar, and DDM in Bangkok. However, it is on the islands, south of Thailand, where Casper truly shines. He has become a regular at Pangea, Monkey Bar, and Ozone of Lanta Island. While in Phuket, he has performed at Club Lam, Blow, Bermudos, and White House. Casper’s resident clubs in Chiang Mai are Babylon Bar and Big Daddy’s where he has hosted a wide array of parties. With an impressive line up including: The Lounge of Warm Up, CM Bar, Zoe, CMBC, Freedom Bar, Rooftop, and Lucky Bar, he has played at every major club in Chiang Mai. Casper is also a regular at major music events such as: Smile Party, Plunge by Le Meridian, Don’t Cry, Joob Joob, Chunky, Twilight Music Park, and Inferno Festival. 

It is difficult to categorise Casper’s genre, he’s just a different kind of animal. Some would call it progressive deep dark techno, others simply call it a magic carpet ride into another world.

It all began one sweet night of alternative electro. On this occasion I discovered for the first time a
LIVE performance.

Coming from the metal scene, this experience opened my mind to other horizons and
and gave me the desire to create my own rhythm.

With the help of a friend, I learned to use different softwares and machines to produce my sound.

Going from concerts to dancefloors, I was inspired by all these influences to elaborate lives and tracks.

Combining analogue and digital sounds, I built my own sound universe.

From this was born " Micro_Impulse ".

Tout commença, une douce nuit d'électro alternative. A cette occasion je découvris pour la première fois une
performance LIVE.  

Issue de la scène métal, cette expérience m’ouvrit l’esprit vers d’autres horizons et
me donna l’envie de crée mon propre rythme .

Avec l'aide d'un ami, j’ai appris à utiliser différents softs et machines pour produire mon son.

Arpentant concerts puis dancefloors, je me suis inspiré de toutes ces influences pour élaborer lives et tracks .

Alliant prises de sons analogiques et digitales, je me suis construit mon univers sonore .

De la est né « Micro_Impulse ».
