ソフィア・コッポラ『マリー・アントワネット』以降、数々の映画のスコアを手がけてきた作曲家ダスティン・オハロランの最新サウンドトラックが待望のCD化！

絵画を描くように音楽を奏でる色彩豊かな作風で、ポスト・クラシカルというジャンルのなかでももっとも人気のあるピアニストのひとりであるダスティ ン・オハロラン。ソフィア・コッポラ監督の映画『マリー・アントワネット』のスコアで注目を集め、最近ではダコタ・ファニング主演の青春映画 『17歳のエンディングノート』(Now Is Good) など、数々の映画のスコアで引っ張りだこですが、本作は彼がスコアを手がけたハリウッド製作の新感覚インタラクティヴ・ソーシャル映画『The Beauty Inside』（2012年公開）のサウンドトラックです。

監督は新進気鋭のドレイク・ドレマスで、オハロランとは2011年のサンダンス映画祭グランプリ作品『今日、キミに会えたら』(Like Crazy) に続くコラボレーションです。さらにこのコンビは2013年のサンダンス映画祭出品作『Breathe In』の公開も控えています。

『The Beauty Inside』はFacebookでオーディションが行われ、オーディエンス自身が主人公を演じることができ、またFacebookのタイムライン上でス トーリーが展開されるという、ハリウッドで初となる新しい形のインタラクティヴ・ソーシャル映画。公開はYouTubeで行われ、先日、2013年のウェビー賞のドラマ部門を受賞しました。

このサウンドトラックでは、ピアノとストリングスに加え、シンセをうまく導入することで、メランコリアとぬくもりが同居するオハロラン本来の作風よりも明るく、すがすがしくも気品のあるサウンドが、毎朝目を覚ますたびに他人の容姿に変わってしまうという不思議な特徴を持った主人公の切ないラブストーリーに瑞々しさをもたらしています。

ミックスはエフタークラングなどの作品も手がける元ジャルディーニ・ディ・ミロのフランチェスコ・ドナデッロ。マスタリングはおなじみのニルス・フラームが担当。

1971年生まれ、ベルリン在住のアメリカ人ピアニスト／作曲家。インディー・ポップ・デュオDevicsの片割れでもあるマルチ・インス トゥルメンタリスト。ソフィア・コッポラ監督の映画『マリー・アントワネット』（2006年）に曲を提供したことで脚光を浴びた。さまざまなCM音楽や映 画のスコアをてがけたり、アーティストのプロデュース業も行う才人。2011年2月にはUKのFatCatのクラシック部門130701より、最新アルバム『Lumiere』をリリース。同年、Stars of the Lidのアダム・ウィルツィーとのユニットA Winged Victory for the Sullenのデビュー・アルバムをリリース。2012年9月に初の来日ツアーをおこなった。
