As a drummer with a bit of experience under my belt, I’m embarking on an exhilarating journey to unlock the mysteries of chords and melodies, the intricate landscape of sharps, flats, majors, and minors that my talented friend Sven seems to navigate effortlessly.

Though Sven may not be continuing with BrainStorm, his impact has been instrumental in shaping our group's persona.

What does this mean, you ask? I’m embracing the learning curve as I step into a realm of harmonies and melodies that are largely uncharted for a drummer like me.

In fact, the Aviation Tunes playlist pays homage to the legendary Pink Floyd, whose timeless tracks have accompanied my musical journey and inspired countless others.

Like a young bird gearing up to take flight, I too am "learning to fly"… see what I did there?

I’m immersing myself in the nuances of chords and harmonies, uncovering new dimensions that were once a puzzle to my rhythmic background.

I never met my paternal grandfather, who died from a brain tumor the year before I was born. However, I felt like I knew him well from my grandmother’s stories.  A child of poverty from a very large family, he grew up in a tiny rural town in the middle of nowhere (see photo).  Despite his very humble beginnings, he knew there was a greater purpose for his life and after returning from military service, he realized his calling to enter the ministry.

His life as a preacher took him down countless roads to cities both large and small, where he planted new churches and built vibrant congregations. Throughout his life, he was known not only for the weekly messages he delivered to his congregation, but also for his life of service to others.  This composition was written to remember that life of service. The introductory theme repeated throughout represents his many travels/moves to the churches and congregations he and his family served.
