Mercenary Records are proud to announce the release of Brendan Tallon’s second single ‘American Strings’ taken from his forthcoming debut solo album.

This is the follow-up to his acclaimed first single ‘Old Man Superman’, which is getting lots of love on radio and was inspired by the Skilled Veteran Corps in Japan. It also follows last year’s re-release of Revelino’s remastered debut album which went straight to No 1 in the Irish Indie charts.

This psychedelic folk song is an ode to America and again showcases Brendan Tallon’s eclectic songwriting style. It reflects his life-long love for Spaghetti westerns and is a celebration of American culture and influence.

Brendan is joined on this shimmering, sun-drenched track by multi-instrumentalist Fintan Jones on flutes, Ray Martin on trumpets and Mark Colbert on drums.

The debut album from Dublin’s Revelino has in many ways become one of the great forgotten Irish albums. This October will mark it’s 25th anniversary, but don’t expect too much fanfare. 
Formed out of the ashes of The Coletranes, Revelino put together this outstanding debut, which won them much acclaim in their native Ireland. Brendan Tallon and Bren Berry of the band chat with Dan.
