Will most likely make a few more versions of «Mysterious» in due time. Experimenting and learning a new semi-modular synth so there will be mistakes or rather «happy accidents» along the way but that’s part of the fun. Altogether i’m using about 10 different hardware synthesizers in one track (i.e. mix VII). Thanks for listening:) Enjoy!

Mysterious

There’s a secret ingredient here:) 3rd mix of this track. Distorts slightly (pads) but nice on headphones. No samples! Only midi/live sequence. May do more versions later…

Mysterious III

Really long version here! 17 minutes 23 seconds but can be thought of as 3 parts. Starts soft then middle section moves into a kind of percussion jam where my secret ingredient is allowed to shine:) 3rd part is a crazy adlib (the last 3-4 minutes) where the ER-1 gets a workout. Definitely suggest listening on headphones (no distortion in this mix). Because the file is a hefty 200 mb the wav is «only» 16 bit 48 khz.

Mysterious VII

Fresh version of «Mysterious» recorded/mixed/mastered today:) Haven’t been in the studio for weeks. Winter has finally arrived in Southern Norway and Xmas is over. Happy New Year to all my listeners & followers!!

Mysterious IV

Probably my last version of «Mysterious» for now. This one’s short and simple. As I said previously there are always mistakes so in this track there’s no bass line, plenty of bass though;) For some unknown reason the “Boog” bass wouldn’t trigger (midi) while I was recording so that’s the reason the track became so short:) After listening a couple of times I liked the sonic space with no bass that left more room for the Moog Labyrinth:) Headphones recommended!

Mysterious XI

This is definitely the last “Mysterious mix:) Added a new element so a bit different from the previous versions. Btw I recorded a 20 minute version (XII) that I won’t be uploading;) It’s too weird. The echoed hi pitched sinus waves @ 0.13 and throughout is a patch (Mysterious) from the tiny red Clavia Micro modular:) Headphones recommended!

Mysterious X

Apparently I made a new mix of «Mysterious» even though I said the complete opposite on uploading my last version (X). Enjoy the ride! Definitely not as chilled as the previous 6 mixes (check playlist). Kept it under 10 minutes this time:) Headphones recommended (nice stereo spread).

Mysterious (OB - 632)

Brillman has been an electronic online musician during the last 20 years using many different names: Brillman, Controlfreak, freakcontrol, Red Karma, Atmosphere, Zero Loop, Pan64, Randomcontrol, geometric delay and Superfreak! Brillman mainly creates original sounds from hardware synths but also uses guitar, samplers, vocals or even poetry. He primarily utilizes a 4 to the floor approach. The aesthetics behind the music is about finding a balance between minimalism vs. depth & improvisation vs. programmed.
