Roberto Straneck: Patagonian birds recordings

Track 1 "Sayhueque" (at the beginning and at the end) "Chucao" bird (Scelorchilus Rubecula) Its powerful song resounds in the woods of the Nahuel Huapi National Park in Patagonia.
End of track 2 and beginning of track 3: colonies of Magallanic penguins.
Track 4 "Magallanes" Black-Crowned Night-Heron (Nycticorax Nycticorax) Usually at night, its harsh sharp song can be heard at the seashore of the of Tierra del Fuego island and the Magellan Strait.
Track 5 "Fuegia & Jemmy" a) sounds emitted by "ballena Franca"
whales (Balaena Australis), highly coveted by the indians of the Magellan Strait and later by European seamen of the XVII and XVIII centuries.

Bruno is an Argentinian classically trained musician, producer, and composer based in Barcelona who writes for strings, piano, and electronics.  In 1998 he started as a producer for ad21, a personal platform and label. His Piano Textures series, started in 2007, is one of Sanfilippo’s most representative set of recordings, but he has also gained wider recognition in modern music – one of his piano compositions formed the basis for Canadian rapper Drake’s seminal hit, ‘Started From The Bottom’.

"Science philosopher Karl Popper put forth the idea that the world could be divided into two categories: clocks and clouds. Clocks are fixed, orderly systems that can be understood by reducing them to their simplest parts. Clouds are, however an 'epistemic mess...' that are 'highly irregular, disorderly, and more or less unpredictable.' This adage was used to illustrate the dilemma of both science (and, I think in daily life) to approach all things as though they were clocks. We want to give nature (and people) a blueprint. But this approach is destined to bring nothing but frustration. The cosmos, its phenomenon, and people are much more like clouds than clocks."

Brock Hewitt is the founder of Stories in Sound Studios based near Toronto, Ontario. He is currently working out of Canada after interning at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions, which was an integral part of his development as an aspiring soundtrack composer in the early years. Brock focuses on creating powerful music that seeks to replicate the depths and intimacies of human stories and emotions. Each composition is hope-filled, story-driven and intentionally crafted. Some compositions are rooted in simplicity, harnessing raw, vulnerable beauty. Contrast that with impactful neoclassical, cinematic, and ambient works at the polar end of the Stories in Sound musical repertoire.
