Mexican duo Sierra Madre is thrilled to unveil their first EP, "Cumbres". The collaboration project of producers @mijomijo and @colossiomx, offers a unique blend of techno and indie dance, influenced by the stories of Monterrey City, Mexico. The release includes a collaboration with @moiseesduro and a remix by Esprit Divers.

Inspired by the tragic events that took place in “Cumbres” neighborhood, the EP opens with the title track, a dark, hypnotic, and evocative cut. It is followed by "Cadereyta," the name of the prison where the perpetrator of the Cumbres murders serves his sentence. A cut featuring distorted synthesizers and a driving drumbeat.

Next is "Diego," the track in collaboration with Moisees, a sinister, powerful, and gummy jam. To close the release, Esprit Divers' “Cumbres” remix provides a powerful and introspective cut, taking listeners on a journey of groovy self-discovery.

Silicone Soul’s Darkroom Dubs continues its celebratory 20th season with a return to the label for Factor City duo, Undo & Casiowaves. Together we strap in for another voyage into the unknown as the Catalonian duo deliver a trademark selection of audio wonderment on their Moviment EP. 

Here We Are sets the tone. Melodic synths, metronomic kick-drum and a bass-heavy pulse fires the listener into orbit. With its effortlessly flowing and progressive build, the track wraps us in warming atmospherics as we embark on the voyage. 

Moviment delivers a delicate touch, with cascading harmonies and an irresistible hook garnishing a bassline that simmers away beneath the beauty. 

Artefacto brings the EP to close with a bang. Sporting oscillating basslines and sharp snares, this cosmic closer is a ferocious ride and the perfect finale to Undo & Casiowaves latest cinematic excursion.

The second and final interpretation of ‘My Message’ is provided by Bekø who also makes his label debut. 

Hailing from Hungary, Bekø has been a force in his country's nightlife for the better part of a decade. As a highly regarded DJ and live act, the Budapest resident has been taking music aficionados on a journey with his soulful dubbed out brand of house and techno. 

As a producer, the Hungarian artist remains choosy in his projects, with just a handful of discography credits across a seven-year stretch. With 2024 being highlighted by ‘Quintessence’, a four-track showcase via Latvian imprint ECOUL SND, Bekø now delivers his first remix of the year, making his REFRACTION debut with a charming take on ‘My Message’. 

Aimed at the dimly lit underground, it’s a clever coax of dubwise synths which reverberate against pummelling beats and lively percussive arrangements, as airy textures meander forward for further backroom magic.

We could not have a better release for our special landmark. After all, reviewing and premiering the work of a dear friend is a task we face fondly, even better when published on one of our favourite labels: Veltrán (FREEDL050) is back on his own Kyma Komplex with the “Brilla Fuerte” EP featuring the always spot-on two-original & two-remix combo – the latter made with love by Encanto and Classic Dellas.

Quoting the PR text poorly translated from the original in Spanish, the release “is the pulse of a descent of energy, a spark that seeks its form, where the invisible becomes tangible and the ethereal finds its place in reality” and curiously does not bring a title track – “1000 Voltios” and “Zapping Rhythms” are the names of the parcels.

With successful incursions on U're Guay, Sinchi, cutting corners, and Kyma itself, Leonardo Ferreira aka Encanto lives up to his moniker and enchants his audiences with a wild-card combination of influences. For his take on “1000 Voltios”, the skilled Brazilian producer stripped the rave and acid aura of the original and came up with an intriguing concoction of soft and deep synth pads topping a nervous and restless base of percussive elements to replace it.
