It is October and we are joined by Detroit's heavy metal miscreants ACID WITCH to talk about their freshly released album ROT AMONG US! We've had them on separately but, this is the first time getting the masterminds behind the witch, Slasher Dave and Tim Shagrat, on together.

This movie is what independent low budget film making is all about. It features some familiar faces from the Detroit punk and metal scene, as well as amazing FX work by local favorite James Bell.

This movie is an example of the right way to pull inspiration from other movies without blatantly ripping them off.

We are taking it back to '89 talking about one of the best splatter films to come out of Germany. Olaf Ittenbach's BLAST PAST. When Olaf released this SOV gem, he showed just what could be done with this genre.

So, tune in, drop out, and have some beers with your breakfast.

It's October, so we had to come out of hiatus to record a new episode before Halloween. We are taking our first stab at a Don Dohler slab that oozes with atmosphere; his 1980 release FIEND.

So, fill your chalice, put on your crushed velvet smoking jacket, and tune in.

Hard to believe Burnt Offerings has not covered a cannibal film until now. This episode we chop it up and chew the fat about Umberto Lenzi's 1980 release EATEN ALIVE! Part cannibal film and part Jonestown-esque cult. EATEN ALIVE! is a a solid predecessor to to Lenzi's cult favorite CANNIBAL FEROX which was released the following year.

So, grab some Flavor-Aid and cobra venom and tune in.

Burnt Offerings is a podcast featuring horror movie, and music, news and reviews. Hosts Jared and Steve discuss horror films and whatever bands and releases they have been jamming all while downing a fine selection of cheap beer and malt liquor. Steve is a self proclaimed '80s slasher fan who doesn't enjoy much of anything that came out after 1994. If he's not watching Hide and Go Shriek while downing a 40oz of Mickeys and blasting Fister, then he's probably beating Friday the 13th for the NES in under 20min for the 1,000th time. Jared likes his movies gory, grainy, and with a good amount of sleaze. Anything from '80s slashers, to Italian giallos and Japanese death tapes. He enjoys watching a stack of tapes while spinning records, mostly Japanese raw punk, raw grind, or almost any NWOBHM band, and drinking a few beers. Catch us at a convention in the Midwest.
