It was an honour to play amongst some powerful dark/raw/hypnotic techno artists for FINSTERNIS, presented by Anomalie Collective. This set sits between 134-139 BPM and includes some of my favourite elements of techno, from strange, dark sounds and long mix ins to hypnotic progressions and layering. 909 RIOT has a passion for hard techno, which he discovered on the noughties underground techno scene in Leeds, where he lives.  

Following a 10 plus year hiatus from making music he recently returned with an obsessive focus to dig deeper than most for those special tracks audiences won’t hear elsewhere. He brings a heavy, unique sound by seamlessly blending layers to create a hard edged, energetic and infectious style, which caught my attention not too long ago while surfing mixes on mixcloud. 

With releases on Tecno Oscuro, Keep on Techno, and many remixes and more in the pipeline, look out for future releases from 909 RIOT that embody his principles behind the decks. 

He is also a resident on the hugely popular Fnoob Techno Radio.

It was fantastic to be back on the Rubix Warehouse stage again, this time for some deep, melodic techno grooves and progressive house sounds for a sensual, slow groovin', euphoric evening at Silk Road, presented by Rubix. I really loved this crowd. They were right there in the feelz with me. I played this set all by feel, so its not perfect. Thank you beautiful people for dancing with me. It had been a while since I played this slower style live. I think I really needed it! I'm excited to be back very shortly for the next event x

Having shared the decks with mighty international acts like Regal, WNDRLST, Metodi Hristov, Auriga, The Yellowheads and Vanessa Sukowski, and domestic artists including Arjun Vagale, Kollision, Ana Lilia, Stoked, Minitech Project, Tuhin Mehta and more, Temple has been steadily carving his niche in the underground music scene.

Nurturing and building his skills in the studio, Temple kick started 2024 with the release of his debut Melodic Hard Techno EP titled ‘Pilgrim’ on Red Eclipse Recordings and is set to drop a lot more bangers soon.

Transcending together with all who tune in, Temple wanders to a world beyond, through music.

CAITY WATSØN is a DJ and upcoming live hardware artist in Naarm/Melbourne. 

Grateful for Australia’s thriving scene, Caity has had the honour of playing at Revolver Upstairs, My Aeon, Tempo Club (QLD), New Guernica, Esoteric Festival (Theme Camp), Brown Alley, Rubix Warehouse, Revolver Lane, Melbourne Pavilion, 524 Flinders, The Gaso & more.

In 2023, Caity was signed as a Track08 artist and was voted into Victoria’s top 5 ‘Best DJ’s. Recently, Caity headlined interstate and locally, was interviewed by Area 3000, Sacred Raving, Positive Education and AUCH (Chile) and did guest mixes for Music Victoria, Kiss FM, Soul Sessions, Anomalie Collective & Proponent Records.

She is also the founder & director of Naarm techno event series ‘150 BPM’ and ‘150% Live’, a radio host for Area 3000’s ‘Rave Cave’ show and co-host of ‘Tunnel Vision & Friends’ events.

Caity’s truest form of musical expression lies within dark and heavy hypnotic techno. By layering her signature eerie, twisted and oscillating sounds with her backbone of reliable hefty kicks and clever repetitions of raw and modular patterns, Caity creates what she calls ‘evil groove’, leaving her crowd to wonder how many hours have past – what their names are – and what just happened.

With her sets being improvised almost all the time now, reading the room is Caity’s number one guide. Her sets are progressive, heavy, careful and more-ish, with a touch of silliness or surprise when it calls for it.

Selections outside of Caity’s niche can range from booty shakin’ disco to funky or acid house and UK garage, to deeply melodic techno or hard groove, to acid or industrial techno, to blending trance-infused techno and hard dance tracks with pure femme sass.

Caity’s love for the raw modular sound has been taken further recently, with her learning live hardware only techno. All live, all improvised synth sets are soon to be added to her repertoire.
