I've always dug the sound of bands like Passport and Deodato. Such monumental offerings of musical inspiration.

The painting was investigated by the scientists of the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage and FOM Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMOLF) Amsterdam.

The ground is dense and yellowish in color and is composed of chalk, lead white, ochre and very little black. The dark background of the painting contains bone black, weld (luteolin, reseda luteola), chalk, small amounts of red ochre, and indigo. The face and draperies were painted mainly using ochres, natural ultramarine, bone black, charcoal black and lead white.

Results included the presence of delicate eyelashes, a green curtain behind the head, changes made, and details of the pigments used and where they came from. The lack of eyebrows and featureless background had led to speculation that Vermeer was painting an idealized or abstract face; the later discoveries showed that he was painting a real person in a real space. The pearl has been described as an illusion due to having "no contour and also no hook to hang it from the girl’s ear".

Watching my brother Bri living out the last few months of his life was probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do.  We had been told that there was no cure for his illness and that, at some point, the inevitable would happen.  But right up until the final few days, he refused to accept this, believing that, somewhere out there, there was some magical remedy he would find to take it all away.  He consulted with so many ‘alternative’ therapists, who all promised their brand of snake oil would deliver him from all that ailed him.  These were always both expensive and totally useless.  

A few weeks before he died, I was sitting by his hospital bed when he actually asked me, “Do You Believe In Magic?”  Knowing what I knew, what possible answer could I give?  Bri already knew the answer too but, all the same, I wished I could have given a convincing and unequivocal ‘yes’.  Difficult though it undoubtedly was, I had to reply that I didn’t but wanting to support him as best I could, told him I believed in him and would always love him 

There is nothing worse than watching someone in their final moments, particularly when they have been such an essential part of your life.  As you get older, facing this scenario becomes unavoidable and though age provides a better understanding of the fact, it never reduces the pain.  Both Gal and I faced similar bedside questions from Bri and this song tries to reflect those onerous, interminable times when one has to be both supportive and honest all at the same time.   

What can you say about Hans that hasn’t already been said?  When I sent him the demo of this song I did wonder if the subject matter may prove difficult.  But his  incredible ability to manifest every emotional nuance in his arrangements is something that always inspires and impresses, as demonstrated so beautifully here.  (Terry Reeves)

Well. Finally!

I am really proud to be able to present this little nasty piece to you. This has several reasons... i have to face some kind of... lets call it "depression", right now (corona fuckedupness...). Low battery status and find it hard to work on any music these days.... and that makes me sad, because there is so much in the pipe, and as mentioned in my profile -> 2021 will be the big Collab-Year! Yes!  So down to it and i will be doing nasty stuff with some of you amazing talented Artists out there... this makes me thrilled about what to come!

While i worked on the last little mix-adaptions and overall master of my album "1981", we managed, during a short period around X-Mas, to visit my parents in law place and "celebrated" the christmas days. It really felt not so good and right, due to the rona crisis and the general lockdown with loosened restrictions just for the public holidays sake....

I took my newly self-gifted arturia microfreak with me and was highly motivated and inspired by the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1PRTg1DRbQ 4 producers 1 synth Andrew Huang video series... with a FAT Lineup of Artists : Rachel K Collier, Red Means Recording, Cuckoo and yeah , Andrew Huang...

After i saw that video i asked my girlfriend and fiance, which i had promised not to buy me another gear this year, if i was allowed to x-mas present myself with this thing and she , ALWAYS so supportive, agreed that i NEED it, sure! LOL.... So i took my travel-setup with me and was sitting in my beloved corner in our little flat at my parents in laws place.... and 80% of the piece was pretty much done when we drove back to our place. 

Still inspired by the magic composing energy i experience there, everytime, i finished the track within the next two days, but really felt not like uploading it. I had to wrap up the Album and decided, that i will drop it by the end of january, early february... and yeah. here it is.

I also want to take the opportunity and thank not only ALL you wonderful artists out there which i have discovered so far... i also want to shout out , that this piece, along with the 4 producers 1 synth video, is heavily influenced by listening to my alltime favorites:
