The Metalheadz back catalogue features almost every major figure in the history of drum and bass, and is one of the most innovative labels out there, consistently crossing boundaries with its releases since 1994. The labels output continues to showcase a maturing genre of music that displays influences from reggae, hip-hop, house and techno with highly-sophisticated and intricately-produced tracks, contrary to the image of the music that is typically presented by the mass media.

Releasing music from some of the biggest names out there whilst at the same time pushing and letting new talent break through are the reasons why Metalheadz continues to stay at the forefront of electronic music.

The Metalheadz label was also the driving force behind the seminal Sunday Session Club Nights, which achieved legendary status at London's Blue Note club. Today, Metalheadz club nights are often sell outs with the label also regularly hosting stages at some of the biggest festivals across the world.

Christian Hinz grew up in a home with classical music and has been playing the piano for many years. He found interest in sound & music from an early age and quickly fell in love with jazz, disco, break beat and industrial.

 In 1988, his big brother invited him to visit the local youth club although he was not old enough. At the club they had a disco with a DJ booth, dancefloor & light effects. He thought it was very cool and asked if he might be allowed to play .. and they said yes. 

He was allowed  into the club and began playing frequently after 3 months. He borrowed spare turntables & a mixer for a year and used all the money he had from time to time in the record shops. He then practiced on his decks at home during daytime after school and played  in the weekend at the club.

In 1990, he participated, for the first time, in a local DJ competition. He won the competition and went on to the regional championships, where he got a 2nd place finish out of 50. During the period 1991-1993, he won both the local, regional and in 1994 the national championship and already in the early 90' he knew that electronic music was the right way for him to go. 

By winning championships in the early years (1990-1994), he has through the last 30+ years  been playing a lot of gigs and arranged many electronic events both national and abroad. He also had weekly broadcasts with electronic music and interviews at regional radio stations in the 90' & various guest mixes in the 00'

For many years (1994-2008) he only played Progressive and Psytrance & Goa and played by the name DJ TP. Today, he plays many different styles of electronic music and he will always deliver a solid experience in technical terms, with tracks to rock the dancefloors boht inland & abroad.

"Music for me is about connection. Connection between the heart, mind, body, and soul. My intent is to discover the magic of our existential life through all senses and feelings. Heal, and connect create universes of sound that transcend a specific intended energy and sensational feeling from the creator to the listener. And the more the listener and creator align, the more the creator has succeeded with the creator's intention. That being said, it is undoubtedly beautiful how a song as a universal language and perpetual piece of art - across time and space - can be interpreted in infinite ways across cultures, generations, world views as well and states of consciousness.

My intention is to fusion all the things I love in life, ancient esoteric wisdom, contemporary science and technology, quantum physics, as well as existential philosophy into novel-seeking art, to express what's in my conscious heart, mind, and soul, researching and discovering all aspects of existence and then express my feelings through my art, through all 6 senses, the 6th sense being intuition, as one of the most important drivers since it is governed by the heart, the seat of the soul. The same conscious instrumental senses that have been used to discover life through all senses is the same instrument I use when making my music. It's almost like an omnipresent tribute to life, where you experience and observe life to the fullest, and then again express your feelings of the experienced and observed through art by using all senses in a conscious and present way.
