We have a special treat for you this month, a collab-mix presented by HUMANS and JK Gaultier to kickstart the Humans LIVE mini tour Aug 4th at Shuffle Club, Calgary, Aug 5th at Disco In the Park Edmonton and Aug 11th at The Pearl Vancouver with … you guessed it, JK Gaultier :). There is a place in our hearts for Humans having shared the stage with them a handful of times over the years and we can’t wait to celebrate with them on the 11th with is sure to be a sold out show with all our friends past and present.

Formed in 2009, LIVE electronic dance duo HUMANS (Robbie Slade & Peter Ricq) have kept dance floors moving across all of the americas and more for over a decade. Now with their new LP out "Man Like Death", the duo wanted to celebrate its release with everyone who's supported them over the years with this Mini Tour.

JKG006 - Humans & JK Gaultier

Hello amigos! We are back with a fresh new episode of our music podcast. We welcome a Reno/Tahoe local for out 6th edition. 

Please give it up for Kaden Koch!

Kaden Koch (aka Caduceus) is a musician born in Reno, Nevada and currently based out in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia.

In his younger years he attended small gatherings by his friends where his love for electronic music flourished. Spinning till dawn on what they call now “Dinotech” mixers, being powered off of an unlucky souls subwoofers (which were in plethora at that time). Connection and creativity were the core values of the company and of the music. 

His background in producing electronic music came mostly from the last decade of trance and ambient instrumentals. Infusing aspects of those genres while hybridizing with the
techno scene he was exposed to while living in Chicago is how he came upon his “sound”. Integrating the three together in a delicate and delicious manner is the essence of his compositions.

Later into his adulthood has helped host and coordinate local events such as “The Brickletown Getdown”(Truckee, CA) the “Deep Down” (Reno, NV), and Comos Industry Night (Truckee, CA) with the Bureau of Hindsight. 
While performing sound healings at local yoga studios is where he coined the title “Caduceus”. Healing the mind, body and spirit through vibration. 

From whether it’s playing music to friends, family, clubs, bars, studios, art cars, renegades, festivals, burning man etc. One goal is kept in mind and that’s to deliver the magic of the music.

Presenting the second edition of my 'A City Of Sounds' mix series. This series began as a love letter to the influences I've picked up during my time in Denver. I realize now it's much more far reaching than that. This is a love letter to all metropolitan soundscapes; to the styles that in my experience, are best heard in a warehouse district far from the futile and sneering judgements of a "normal society". 

So for the next hour enjoy a cerebral, sometimes anxiety-inducing blend of hypnotic and dub techno, leftfield, and a touch of bass music. All from artists that were introduced to me (much in the same way as you I hope) by our local tune selectors over the years.

A City of Sounds Mix Part 2

Cenobyte is the passion fueled music endeavors of Denver local, Cody Bates. He got his start in the L.A. club scene in 2012, interviewing DJ's and reviewing shows in the city. From there he began doing professional artist spotlights across the northeast, working with acts like Norm Talley, 4mplify, Ichisan, and being published with the Eskimo Recordings label. 

Finally making his way into Denver's underground, he immediately found himself working with crews like Sorted, Invisible City, Nocturnal, Gloom, and Mother Earth Sound System. Since then he's hit the decks and has been playing events alongside some of the best talent in the city; from iconic locals to international acts like Daniel Avery. 

The name Cenobyte is inspired from novelist Clive Barker; a man who specializes in peeling back the safe veneer of society and exposing the otherworldly. More importantly, a true ambassador for the things that go bump in the night. The oddly oppressed, and the strange. Whether Cenobyte is weaving through progressive belters, hypnotic blends of techno and house, or curating dark fantastical themes like the novelists he adores, you can always count on a journey through the unknown. A story each it’s own.
