CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

ABAT: I wouldn't go as far as to say that our scene is bad, but unfortunately, for the Industrial genre, the scene is non-existent. We only have Donu D and me at the moment, and this is on a country level. Currently, we are just two active DJs/producers of this genre here. We've searched for people who share the same vision and way of thinking as we do but to no avail. Sadly, it feels like we're on a stranded island, but nothing will stop us. Even if we live 400 kilometres apart, we are ambitious, and we strive to bring this genre to the underground scene as soon as possible, despite the challenges that are ahead 🖤🫡 

Despite the Industrial genre being almost zero, our Hard Techno community is waaaay bigger and striving; although it's the "commercial" type, at least we have this 😁👌

It has made me overcome many barriers. I am walking on thin ice in our country because nobody actually listens to Industrial Techno. Our scene is filled with commercial Hard Techno stuff, and I highly dislike that genre now. Currently, I am trying to revive the Industrial scene once started by Donu D and Sergiu TH. Luckily for me, I still have Donu D as a friend and colleague, as he is still active in the scene!

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

ABAT: The set is straightforward, as all of my sets hit directly in your face as soon as an intro from a selected culture I admire ends. This podcast contains the Serbian chant "Terrifying Judgment", which adds a nice Orthodox touch.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

ABAT: The set reflects my mixing style, which includes around 30 tracks played throughout 60 minutes, which for some people may sound like too much. I am always running out of time, even before the time limit, because I am transitioning very fast from one track to another to keep the energy level very high and to make people dance to exhaustion! I want to say that mastering the EQ faders is a must for everyone who wants to play Bochka!

The Vernietiger: I don’t have anything to say about the set … all I want to say is that CSQ is a safe heaven for upcoming artist and I wanna thank them for giving people a chance to bring out their sets.

The Vernietiger: As exactly like on a rave you start slow and gradually during the night the tracks get harder and harder thats how I like to create my sets. Beginning with bochka/industrial and half way mark turning into hard industrial.

Falling in love with Black Metal bands such as Emperor, MGLA, Aosoth, and ANAAL NATHRAKH, he developed a taste for the extreme music genres that define him to this day.

Since 2020, he took a deep dive into the universe of Hard Techno, and later found himself to like what we call today Industrial, Hard Industrial, Neobochka, and any dark style of Techno that isn't mainstream.

In February 2024, he founded ECLYPSE, a label dedicated to the underground, a concept that remains unchanged to this day, serving as a counter to the mainstream culture of electronic music.

CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

Sęrtec: I think the techno scene in the Netherlands is a bit ruined. I started going to raves in 2022 and I think that the atmosphere is a lot worse now in my perspective. It’s about who plays the hardest instead of a nice buildup through the night with different styles of techno.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

Sęrtec: I tried to make this set with tracks from artists who differentiate themselves from the mainstream. I really respect and look up to these artists for the tracks they make (especially FRAG451, RIJA, Hush&Sleep, BNØ). I tried to make a set which takes you on an emotional journey with a nice buildup through the set.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

Sęrtec: I think the set reflects the style I’m representing now. In the early days of my career, it was all about the hard kicks and now it’s all about the energy and emotion for me. Thats is what made me fall in love with techno, not the hard kicks.

CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

REVIVAN: As a child, I was always fascinated by electronic and melodic cinematic music. After many years of listening to hardstyle, I discovered the Hard Techno scene at Verknipt Festival 2023. I instantly fell in love with the way dark atmospheres and melodies were blended with an industrial, relentless kick. Soon after, I found myself inspired by artists like Raxeller, Gostwork, Toxic Machinery, and more. By eventually combining all of my interests and the elements I truly feel connected to, I developed my own sound and that has shaped me as an artist.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

REVIVAN: The tracks I selected for this set represent my style in the purest way.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

REVIVAN: This set captures the essence of my journey as an artist. It reflects the transition from my early fascination with melodic and cinematic elements to the darker, industrial energy of Hard Techno. The progression of the track selection shows how I have learned to merge those influences into a cohesive sound that feels authentic to me.

CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

M1CH4L: The techno scene in Slovakia is strange. People here only know mainstream or what they see on TikTok, and the underground has almost no value. That’s why I chose a path that not many people here take, and most importantly, I enjoy it.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

M1CH4L: I don’t have much to share, I just picked the tracks I simply like and wanted to play them.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

M1CH4L: I started learning with classic Hard Techno, but after a while I switched to the Bochka style because that’s what I love the most and enjoy playing the most.
