Taking the first step into 2018, Rebellion welcomes Cologne’s Jonathan Kaspar. Hot on the heels of his debut release Zarun on Crosstown Rebels as part of the new Spirits compilation, the accomplished producer invites us into his world to deliver a wholly mystical two track EP.

Deep, rumbling pads swell and fall as subtle shakes entice the senses in title track Boson. Sonder soon follows with melodic bursts and deep chords in dreamy layers. “I made both tracks right after each other and immediately felt they paired up really nicely,” Jonathan reveals. ‘Boson’ is raw, bassy and percussive, whereas ‘Sonder’ holds a certain deepness, a hidden vocal and a lot of different noises. I remember so many nights and days playing them out. They are like the soundtrack of my 2017.“

DJ and producer Jonathan Kaspar has released on the likes of Objektivity, Pets Recordings and Kompakt´s KX, while also being resident of the famed Gewölbe club. A standout of last year was his massive Ibiza anthem, Khaya, named in Pete Tong’s top ten ‘Class of 2017’. Big things are set for 2018, starting with remixes for Catz ´n Dogz, Hyenah and Pokerflat plus this solo EP on Rebellion.

Nothing Is Real welcome Low Manuel for the 6th release of the label. 

Low Manuel is a real music lover born in Italy in the 90’s.  His music vision is the expression of his character, introspective, dark and sophisticated.
His style is a mixture of indie electronic but also Techno and his compositions transmit emotions, influenced by the Stars and the Marine World. The 'Scourge Ep' explores new musical shades, hinting at moments of new wave through a lens of psychedelia.
The title track is a trip with an incredibly catchy rhythmic pattern and a strong bassline, while 'The Room’ has a ravey hypnotic and powerful touch.
The Italian duo Margot remix ’The Scourge’ delivering a strong version with their typical synth-driven kraut-techno style adding insane beats, fizzing synths and peaking chords for optimal dancefloor effect. While Nhar gives us his unique and introspective reinterpretation giving the track a mesmerizing deep electronic vibe, taking us to a journey between the bright and dark sides.

A new Chapter is upon us. ‘The Mirror: Reflected’ dazzles with four brilliant representations of Kieran Apter's original works released on Chapter 24 in early 2018.

Apter, a label regular hotly tipped for success as the head honcho and resident DJ of Edinburgh house and techno party ‘Tweak_’, is joined this time by four heavyweights who make a big impression.

Co-owner of Maeve, The Drifter is a DJ and producer of the highest order. He opens the book with an Edition of the title track which pairs bombast and dancefloor drive with a heavy dose of cosmic disco goodness.

The first to rework ‘Without’, Apter’s collaboration with Leon Power, is Hamburg’s very own Doctor Dru. The track is a masterclass in deep, propulsive and forward-thinking house music that makes full use of the haunting and evocative vocal of the original.

Next, ESP Institute, Futureboogie and Culprit artist and hero of Ibiza’s We Love… at Space, Ian Blevins presents a deep, contemplative and emotional meditation for the afterhours as his reimagination of the track.

Domenic Cappello closes the EP out. The legendary DJ and mainstay of Glasgow’s Sub Club recasts ‘Without’ through layered and interweaving arpeggios that are reminiscent of Larry Heard. The effect is highly compelling and hypnotic and a fitting end to the package.

Both deep and emotional, functional and meaningful, 'The Mirror: Reflected' EP presents four stories in sound from key players in the game that each cast a light on the power of dance music to move us.
