Ep 259: Mystery On The Clock

Behold! It can bring sweet delights, or it can bring terrible pain. It contains tat amassed from the forgotten corners of the podcast and it all reside in one place… The mythical “Black Bin Bag”! Ep 265: The Black Bin Bag Edition 2

It’s a question that’s often been asked in CheapShow’s 6 years of existence, “Who is more stupid, Paul or Eli”? This week the answer can finally be revealed because that answer is “Both of them. Both are stupid”. Saved from last week’s Black Bin Bag of Mystery, the Cheap Chaps have fished out a book from the 1970s called “Boiling Water In A Paper Cup”. Ep 273: CheapShow TV 2022 Part Two

In a time-hopping edition of CheapShow, Paul is hopping backwards and forwards in time to challenge both Eli and Mr Biffo to a game of The Price of Shite. Why? Well… With Eli still in America, Paul has to record an episode of the podcast with someone, and luckily Mr Biffo was available to guess the cost of the charity shop tat. However, Paul realises that he can hop forward a week and task a returning Eli to the exact same game. As Paul bounces back and forth, Eli and Biffo go head-to-head to see who will reign supreme. Along the way they’ll talk mutant trains, monkey cruelty, pepper holes, unusual smells, and old toys. All Paul needs to do is hand out the P’twings. Hopefully he can at least manage that.

Ep 274: A Tale of Two Podcasts

Sometimes it’s fine to have a silly, throwaway episode, and this episode is about as throwaway as they come. Paul and Eli have a touch of the silly giggles this week and you may find it a) charming or b) deeply unprofessional and annoying. You know, the usual! In this particular episode of CheapShow, the cheap chaps are heading back into the Country Urban Noodle Test lab (Kitchen) after a long spell away to try out two “American” instant noodles. They are dirt cheap, but do they taste of dirt? Silverman’s Platter also returns to delve into more weird and (occasionally) wonderful musical mysteries. There is a trilogy of childhood tunes for Paul and Eli to endure and each is more wonderful than the last. In fact, it’s quite the tuneful episode as Eli may have accidentally stumbled upon a hit West End Musical, waiting to be realised… And for Paul, he dying to hear more!

Ep 276: "Oh, Norman!"

After the high drama of last week’s Derek finale, it’s very much back to basics for Paul and Eli this week on CheapShow. To bring some stability to the format, they opt to indulge in some Cheap Eats and Price of Shite action. At no point do two new, awful characters appear, destined to be forgotten about. Not at all!
In Cheap Eats, Messrs Gannon and Silverman tackle a rather unsatisfactory brand of strongly flavoured Sunflower seeds and guzzle down Gingerbread flavoured Mountain Dew. It was all going so well until Eli pulls out an impromptu Sauce Report and Paul goes on a silent protest.
The Price of Shite brings along a selection of weird and wonderful charity store sourced items ranging from the pointless to the fascinating. It at least gives Gannon a chance to do a Scottish accent… Sadly. It’s a thrilling finale to the game of tat and one where Poindexter gets pulled into the action too!
This is SUCH a weird pod at times…

Ep 279: Hole Ness

The Quest Master returns! In yet another thrilling “walkabout” episode, Paul and Eli go exploring the woods of North London and take on 4 cheap challenges. It’s an adventure so big/drawn out, that it had to be split into two episodes! The journey begins in High Barnet and takes the cheap chaps on an escapade that goes off the rails before it begins. It also doesn’t help that they quickly get lost and must back track to return to the trail. It’s an episode packed with cheeky dogs, arguments, indecent proposals, a chocka hungry goblin, a nappy obsessed knight, a few painful accidents and an “Off Brand/Brand Off” that could be a lot more difficult than it first seems. To make things spicier, there’s real cash on the table for Eli to win, so The Quest Master has made the challenges a little more difficult as a result, which please Paul greatly. Will Eli reign victorious? Will Paul injure himself? Will they even figure out where they are going? Listening to this podcast will reveal all!

Ep 281: Gannon's Second Golden Quest Part One

This week is the “thrilling” conclusion to Gannon’s Second Golden Quest! Okay, maybe not “thrilling” but it’s definitely the finale to this drawn-out disaster! Last week, Eli failed his first challenge and lost out on £3, can he salvage his reputation by successfully completing the next three tests of skill and cognitive ability? Ep 282: Gannon's Second Golden Quest Part Two

After getting lost in the woods for two episodes, Paul and Eli are back doing what they do best. Whatever that is! Long time contributor Ivenne has sent the cheap chaps a box of goodies from Norway (and Sweden) and it’s packed with sauces, tat and candy. Eli doesn’t need an excuse to talk sauce, so he is rather excited about the Lee Kum Kee Cooking Sauce collection as well as the lemon grass siracha and Vietnamese soy sauce. Paul? He isn’t excited at all. Things improve when its time for a European Price of Shite, with items obtained from Norwegian charity shops. For Paul, he is most excited by the folk cassette that Eli promptly ruins with his improvised, horrific lyrics. Things don’t improve when a few new characters turn up, each one more pointless and volatile than the last. Put the kettle on, grab a hot drink and get cozy, it’s CheapShow time!
