It’s a scorching hot day so Paul and Eli decide to skip recording the podcast and take themselves out into the wild to get up to some mischief. In the great tradition of mucking about in the woods, the cheap chaps are trying to recapture those naughty adventures from their youth. They plan to smoke ciggies, drink cheap booze, look for a place to call their “den” and, of course, search for a pile of disregarded porn mags. As with most walkabout episodes, things don’t go according to plan. Along the way they get lost in a cemetery, take abuse from little old ladies, reminisce halcyon days, make toxic cocktails, have a meltdown in Tescos, dangle from trees and make an utter show of themselves. It’s a shameful day out for everyone. Come and join Paul and Eli as they soak up the sun in this Summer Special ramble.

Ep 290: The Boys of Summer

If Paul and Eli thought last week’s woodland adventure was hot, then this week is going to be a very unpleasant surprise! As temperatures rise throughout the UK, the Cheap Chaps decide to forge onwards and record an episode on one of the hottest days on record. This, as it turns out, is not a good idea. With energy running low and drenched in sweat, Eli suddenly as a great idea… Let’s call Juicy Jeremy and see if he can deliver some cool, refreshing “sody-pops”. Luckily, he is in the area and stops by with some fizzy drinks and maybe acting a little bit “suss”. What will they discover this week? Ep 291: The Heat Is On

It’s been the talk of the internet for weeks, but this week, Paul and Eli finally give their opinion… On what the hell those unknown flavours are in the Dairy Milk Mystery Bars! There are two bars to investigate, both very different in flavour profile, which is hard enough to figure out without Paul creating a new, deeply annoying, character. Will this new cheeky chappy break Eli or will he succumb to his charms? Elsewhere in the episode, a Silverman’s Platter and a Gannon’s Golden Games segment smash into each other when the cheap chaps have a quick look at the “Animal Kwackers” music album. You know, for kids! It’s an oddity of a platter but one that quickly gets ignored in favour of creating a new jingle and arguing over the point of musical copyright. Oh CheapShow! Sigh.

Ep 293: Mystery Chocolate

On a good day, Paul and Eli are old, clapped out, exhausted and useless. So, can you imagine what condition they’re in after foolishly exerting themselves following their BIG live show the previous day? You can find out in this week’s frail episode. Following the events of the live 300th episode performance, some kind CheapSkate listeners donated all sorts of weird, wonderful, and woeful packages to Paul and Eli and in this week’s podcast, they dive into some of the more edible offerings. After being wowed by their Cheese and Onion flavoured crisps, the cheap chaps are delighted to learn Tayto have a whole range of flavours to discover! Sadly, the same excitement can’t be observed for the soft drinks that have found their way into CheapShow’s orbit. As if exhaustion wasn’t enough, there’s also the matter of an ever largening room full of knock off characters to worry about!

Ep 295: The Kindness of Strangers

In what was meant to be an easy-going, laid-back episode of CheapShow, the show not only goes off the rails halfway in but spends a good chunk of the remaining runtime feeling terribly ill! It’s a packed show this week as Paul and Eli take on a whole host of topics. They angrily debate the “expert opinion” of a Top 10 best Walkers Crisps flavours list. Eli gets over-excited at the discovery of a lost bit of Tiswas merchandise and Paul wants to reboot the show with a Wild West theme. All of this is overshadowed by a very special Sauce Report segment that is special for ALL the wrong reasons. In fact, it may be the most traumatic Sauce Report they’ve ever suffered through. Imagine that?!

Ep 296: It Ain't Half Hot, Son!

Attention Shoppers! There’s a clearance sale at the Fashion Boutique! Will it be Paul or Eli to first secure a fancy jacket at a huge reduction? And who will grab the Designer Shades at the Opticians? Ooooh, it’s thrilling! It’s a fast-paced shopping spree this week on the economy comedy podcast. Paul’s been after the MB Games classic “Mall Madness” for a while, and finally, he inflicts his obsession on to Eli. After a few false starts, the Cheap Chaps take on the challenge to see who will be crowned “King Shopper” in a game primarily aimed at young teenage girls in the 1990s. If you think that’s going to make for a simple and pleasant game, then you’ve obviously never listened to the podcast before! It’s a s***show!

Ep 297: Mall Madness

As Episode 300 nears, Paul and Eli decide to squeeze in one more walk before summer ends. In this edition of the economy comedy podcast, the cheap chaps decide to take on the 3-mile London Parkway Walk, which is London’s Longest Linear Park, don’t you know?! It’s certainly a long walk for two out of shape idiots who have nothing but Japanese “worthless” snacks as a form of sustenance. There is also no guarantee they will make the trip from Finsbury Park to Alexander Palace in their state! As they follow the abandoned railway line, they’ll attempt some arty augmented reality, wander through a few “kissing tunnels”, explore a bat cave and wander forgotten platforms, cursing and arguing every step of the way! They also attempt a few weak stunts. It goes badly. Obviously.

There is a loose tradition on CheapShow that when it’s the week of Paul’s Birthday, he decides to do as little as possible to get the episode out with as little editing as possible too. Ep 304: The Doppledangler's Fondant

Happy Halloween! …And welcome to a rather troubling episode of CheapShow.
This edition of the economy comedy podcast has been pieced together from the recording equipment and audio footage that was found abandoned in a dirty back alley earlier this week.
During the early weeks of October 2022, Paul and Eli attempted to record their Halloween episode for that year. Tragically, that recording session was abandoned and the “Incident on Harbet Road” will never be publicly shared… for now.
In a desperate attempt to get something out for Halloween, Paul and Eli tagged along with Mr Biffo and Sanja for a “Digitiser’s Supernatural World” film shoot at a haunted sweet shop in Chatham, owned by a chap called Dan Does Crafts…
The whole film crew slowly succumbed to an uninvited evil and, as of the publication of this episode, have yet to be found. Their whereabouts are still a terrifying mystery.
What follows is an upsetting and, at times, disconcerting document of what happened on that fateful night, October 24th, 2022.
