Proudly presenting Nookie's debut album for Metalheadz – 'Improvisions'.

A collection of work which Nookie himself calls "the best tracks I've ever written", 'Improvisions' embraces the fact that we don't live in a perfect world. Throughout the project, aided in many parts by Ruth Royall, Nookie expresses his deep-rooted love for the music he's devoted so much of his life to, backed further by a total creative freedom.

As with much of Nookie's music, vocals are a crucial component. Ruth Royall's soul-stirring presence can be heard on six of the album's 13 tracks, including standouts like 'Missing You', 'Part Of Me' and the previously released 'Hero'. Given the vigour and liveliness that both artists exhibit, it is difficult to imagine that they first connected online. Ruth calls working with Nookie "a pleasure right from the start", adding that "the musicality shone through instantly and just sparked endless ideas".

As we head deeper into the album Nookie provides some signature dancefloor fillers in the way of 'Future Forever' and 'Over & Over', as well as lower tempo beats such as '92 Interlude' and 'Smoke Screen'. The assemblage of tracks come together impressively, further cementing Nookie's reputation as one of the most important artists of his kind.

'Improvisions' is released in full on 13th October preceded by a 2-track sampler on 29th September, both pressed onto 12" white vinyl.

Omni favourties Binary and Woken Balance team up to bring Omni fans a unique fusion of their sounds with this new EP. Binary starts the beauty with the emotional rollercoaster of 'New Life' where serene guitar melodies serenade the graceful oldskool breaks before Woken Balance takes over to give us a stellar journey of lingering pads, crisp rhythms and expressive vocals. Woken Balance continues with his dreamy and goosebump-inducing remix of Binary's 'Viewpoint', a superb example of taking a remix in a new direction. Binary ends the EP with his take on Woken Balance's 'Tau Ceti', an energetic ride through breakbeats, playful melodies and rapturous arpeggios. At the fresh age of 14, Chew Lay had a life changing experience at the height of the Old Skool and Jungle era (‘95-‘97) during a party at The Manor in Bournemouth. Blinded by the rush of his first ever rave, he knew from that moment onwards, he had to become a part of the growing jungle scene!

In 1999 he started his music career DJ-ing D’n’B which gave him a deeper understanding of the music scene and led him to explore his hidden talents of creating his own sounds and into the world of production. 

His sound has continued to change and evolve alongside his own personal growth and evolution journey which has come with its challenges and creativity blocks over the years and resulted in many unfinished tracks. But this time also allowed him to play around with producing different genres and figure out the direction he wanted his music to progress in. 

Fast forward to 2021 after a couple of years’ hiatus from production, Chew got inspired by his love for Melodic Breakbeat and House Music and with a fresh perspective and new wave of energy, he created and completed 12 tracks, each one with a totally unique sound and vibe! 

Chew is dedicated to creating tracks for the awakening masses that are up-lifting and euphoric but that also assist in the the evolution of human consciousness with his soon to be released meditation tracks.
