Never Alone In A Dark Room - Scrisolisea

Swiss imprint Adam’s Bite drop their third entry on the catalogue this May, featuring four original tracks by French producer Traumer.
The Frenchman has proven himself a true force in the electronic music community, seamlessly weaving his distinct sonic designs into memorable, ageless rhythms. Traumer’s discography pledges for his dynamism: proving his versatility and mastery on labels such as Infuse, Berg Audio and his lauded Gettraum imprint. Traumer’s latest offering on newly formed label Adam’s Bite sees him join Ion Ludwig and Martinesque as he continues to develop his organic, minimal house stylings that he’s honed over the years.

Kicking things off with ‘Diplo’, which offers a lean groove as glistening synths work in unison with irresistible bassline before making way for ‘Douce’, which provides a hazy, late-night atmosphere, tripped-out fx and shuffling drums that tingle the sensations.

On the flip, ‘Prima’ provides a graceful sonic exploration fusing swaying pads, rubbery low frequencies and breezy elements before ‘Plastica’ masterfully rounds off the EP with the signature Traumer rhythms that effortlessly shimmer underneath the glitchy electronics and eerie melodies.

Traumer ‘Diplo’ EP is out via Adam’s Bite on 14th May 2021 (Vinyl) and 28th May 2021 (Digital).

Berlin welcomed them on a cool autumn evening. The narrow streets of Prenzlauer Berg flooded with the warm light of vintage lanterns, led Needle and Plate to a familiar place on Stargarder Street — the Lucky Six Tattoo. Inside was a spirit of creative chaos: posters of various festivals hung on the walls, and a slight smell of paint and coffee lingered in the air.

— Needle! Long time no see! — Daniel exclaimed with a wide smile, hugging her. — How are you?
— I'm fine, — she grinned. — This is Plate, my bro and music partner.
— Nice to meet you, Plate! — Daniel shook his hand.
— Nice to meet you, too. Glad we're finally here. Needle couldn't miss the opportunity to stop by and visit you, — said Plate.
— Yeah, I've been waiting for this moment, — Needle added and lifted her sleeve showing a tattoo: a vinyl record on her shoulder that had become her musical symbol over the years. — I think it's time to freshen it up.
— Of course, I remember that drawing! We did it when you started getting into electronic music and collecting vinyl. Such good times! Well, we'll add a few details to make it look sharper, — Daniel nodded, grinning slightly.

As he got ready for work, they chatted casually. Plate talked about the upcoming party at the bar, whereas Needle shared how she had longed to return to this city, which had always remained her idea of home and associated with the indomitable spirit of freedom.

For the tenth entry in its catalog, Undergroove enlists Paris-based Local DJ to deliver Hoax Machine EP - a five-track odyssey through low-slung house and twisted electro funk, where the rhythm is always one step ahead of your body. This isn’t a record built on genre; it’s built on feel - heat in the hinges, groove in the circuitry, and tension curled up beneath the bassline like a sleeping animal.

Lastly on the A-side there is “Fire In The House” and it does exactly what it says - no smoke, just flame. A raw, jacking cut that runs hot with urgency. Everything about this track is locked-in: the vocal stabs, the kick’s dry punch, the low-end burn. It doesn’t ask for permission. It just burns through the booth.
