Eighteen months on from his "Left Hand Drive" debut on Bricolage, Wilks returns with his much anticipated, sophomore EP, "A Soul To Borrow".

Any fans of the "Left Hand Drive" EP will be elated to know that the emotive edges and cinematic backdrops are still at the forefront of the Wilks sound but there's a clear evolution at the core of his productions. It's a sound that is hard to pin down. Incorporating elements of ambient, electronica, garage and drum n bass into one evocative whole. Clean production techniques, a broader palette and more experience has elevated Wilks into a new realm of sound. Electronic music with finesse and grit.

There's a more lacquered nuance in the shades of the melodies on show and the basslines run that little bit deeper. Helping to add further to the stirring depth of all six tracks. The percussion feels tight but luxurious as it meticulously opens and expands around the soundscapes. There's a degree of melancholy throughout but the reflection of the shuffling rhythms provides us with a constant sense of moving forward and upwards.

Intricate, delicate, serene and atmospheric. You can hear and feel that this is a project that has had everything poured into it. Heart and soul.

The album sets its stall out from the very beginning and sets the tone for what lies ahead. A collection of organic musical landscapes.

The experimental nature of Veelargo is clear to hear throughout as we experience drifting panoramic ambient jostling with contorted motifs and incisive rhythms. 

Opening track "Baalm" takes us on a melancholic sonic journey as it gently soars into a crescendo and back again. The pace then picks up as we traverse through realms of acid flecked electro, brisk and bustling beats, laser melodies, alien bass and futuristic sound design. The trip goes full circle and we end on the probing and exploratory "Kalk". A dreamscape of a track that floats along and burrows into your psyche.

'livet vänder inte åter' was composed in the city of İstanbul during the past moon of December. It contains fragments from vastly different parts of my life, blended with recordings made while wandering among these continual streams of people, animals, vehicles of all kinds, passing street musicians on the way down to the calming waves of the strait, the seagulls circling above. Everything somehow falling together, in me, and I, a part of everything.

Following his debut Dolere (2024) and a collaboration with Joachim Spieth and Markus Guentner on Arcadia (2025), zakè returns to Joachim's Affin imprint with an intensely captivating work that explores the resonance of low frequencies and subsonic vibrations. There are only three pieces on this 55-minute release (the first track runs for over 28 minutes!), and you get to preview one of them before the album is out. This is music shaped for your deep, immersive, and glacial listening sessions. Good headphones and a subwoofer (yes, at the same time) are recommended. "Low Harmonics builds upon the reflective world first introduced by Zach on Dolere, which explored how time stretches during periods of sorrow and how sound can create a brief shelter from that weight. Alessandro Barbanera is an Italian musician and composer based in Assisi. He moves in ambient, drone, and electroacoustic genres, using guitars, synths, tape machines, field recordings, and found sounds, seeking a sound that combines experimentation, artisanal approach, and emotional impact.

Nowhere (Inner Refuge)

Le Code and KapTep are back with the sequel to their album “Urban Garden,” released in 2024 on Mare Nostrum. “Urban Garden, Volume 2” is available on the Ambient Cat label and marks a new stage in the collaboration between the two artists.

“We wanted to explore new things and bring in elements that we hadn't dared to try before. The motto during the writing of the album was: No limits!” And that's exactly what the artists did: while the album starts with ambient soundscapes, it evolves into more electronic atmospheres, with beats even appearing on some tracks.

Alex's and Derek's techno heritage is also represented in Urban Garden, Volume 2, supported by quality reworks by Sebby Kowal and Dionisaf, who are always ready to experiment.
