These demos (I put them together during a frantic all-nighter before the big release) use the factory presets I contributed to the monumental Synclavier V project. All FM synthesis. Many people don't realize that Arturia's Synclavier V is the real thing and not an emulation - the actual original Synclavier FM engine.

The "Clockwork Orange" cover (first track) uses: A Clockwork Bass, A Clockwork Gong, Tron '82 Woodwinds, Tron Flute (velo), Tron Brass Ensemble, Tron Ending Credits. TimeWarp (hold)

Recorded in "real time" in Live with multiple instances of Modular V to allow tweaking each part as it is running.

Love On A Real Train cover

The Blade Runner Blues lead / harmonica patch is one of the most expressive patches Vangelis ever did on the CS-80. Among other things it features sensitive and fine-tuned velocity and aftertouch response, with quite different settings for each of the two synth lines. Since it is not directly derived from the CS-80's preset buttons, as many of his other go-to patches were, and especially because it has so many expressive nuances, it is not a straightforward patch to recreate. 

 After many hours of fine-tuning every possible parameter on the CS-80V3 and much A/B comparison, this is the closest I have gotten. The pad background was created with the Roland VP-03 strings to emulate Vangelis' gorgeous VP330, and some Rhodes flourishes were added.

Chuck is a Los Angeles-based composer whose recent work spans both film and concert music. His scoring credits include the Samantha Bee: Your Favorite Woman special and films for Calvin Klein and a sound installation for the ELLE Next couture show at Lincoln Center. He has also worked on various documentaries, web series, and television projects. In addition to his film work, Chuck has composed concert pieces such as "Symphony 1" and "String Quartet 1," available on iTunes and Amazon.
