Clarisse’s 57th variety comes from the Costa del Sol and has sea air and Spanish sun splashed all over it. Novodisc Sanchez has been spinning for the best part of two decades, his grooves locating labels such as Vendetta, Spinnin’ Records and Sanity Limited. This year he has remixed Cruzado’s ‘Night at Moon’ as part of an EP bigged up by Claude Von Stroke, Joseph Capriati and Marco Carola, and within fifteen minutes here, he’ll have you reaching for the holiday brochure.

Definitely not one for subliminal messages or abstract ways to get you moving, ‘Check It Out’ crowd surfs on a bubble of hot to trot bass and deals in DJ shout outs with its shirt off. Moving you out of his mid evening Mardi Gras with drink in hand, Novodisc telling you to not touch that dial is pepped up by the occasional plink of rave chords, and a breakdown eyeing up the velvet rope treatment of pool parties and club terraces. Deep and funky house keen to assemble a throbbing throng of clubbers - you can’t get more simpler and more effective, and more Clarisse than that.

Stuffed with the funk of a pluckin’ good bassline that’ll knock your flip flops off, ‘Da House’ declares it truly unreasonable to be staying indoors once the sun his the sky. Spring heeled beats feel low end heat, and another sprinkling of chords darting in and out encourages bodies to become intertwined until the swapping of sweat starts occurring. If you can’t take the hint, never mind the heat, Novodisc becomes his own hype man and takes it back with unashamed shout outs on the hook.
