Re:Circulation is a new mix series which will feature older tunes that either never made it onto a Body&Soul mix, or classics that did but I want to revisit and revive them by mixing them with different tracks, and also there will be a few new tunes (mostly when none of the tunes in my library will fit!). Circulation was the first Body&Soul mix, so the title seemed fitting lol. I have a good bit of tunes that just didn't fit in (it's the land of misfit tunes!) and kind of got left on the backburner, but they're great tunes, so they aren't "rejects" lol. FYI! This time around I also included some older tunes that were recently re-released on a comp (tunes I missed originally). Enjoy the mix. For this particular session I didn't have much of an advance plan or direction but things still seemed to end up on the jazzy/soulful side of the spectrum for a good amount of the first hour. It was a nice crisp spring day in Georgia so I suppose that's pretty appropriate. Some cool deeper/melodic new music got played in that hour before I amped the energy up a bit around the one hour mark. Second hour I settled into a slightly darker dub roller type sound, mixed with some angular minimal and tech rollers. By the end I ended back down into some deeper sci-fi liquid and soulful rollers to close it out. Fun sesh, good vibes as always. S/O to my loyal LLL crew always representing and the few new followers who came on board this week!

Liquid Lovers Lounge (EP94|MAR11|2023)

For the last week or so I've been digging through my music collection trying to get ready for some upcoming festival type gigs. The sad reality is that most of the stuff I play in these LLL sessions wouldn't fly on a festival stage. Most of the nuance and sophistication of deeper music is lost in that type of setting, where all that matters is the amount of energy you bring. Most people who see me play know that I have zero charisma behind the decks so I need to let the music do all the talking if I'm gonna be perceived as remotely adequate in those situations.

So if you hear part of this session veer into uncharacteristically pop dancefloor drum & bass territory, you at least know what's going on 🤣. I feel like there's a happy medium in there somewhere but it's a constant work in progress...

Shoutout to the new followers and everyone who came to hang with me on Saturday despite all the other Twitch events happening that day. These streams are still the best way for me to gauge what I'm doing as a DJ and for coming up with ideas that might translate into my IRL sets. Cheers!

Colin Pierce is a 26 yr veteran DJ hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where he became highly and widely respected for his skills and integrity. 

“A musical journey”
Colin is a lifetime music junky. He is the first human to be born with headphones already on! Seriously though, since 6 years of age he has been actively seeking, collecting, and enjoying, music, and that was in 1983, so you do the math! Colin had 2 bands in high school, and wrote all or much of the music for them. He started mixing records in 1998 shortly after his first rave party, and hasn't stopped, always continuing to refine his formidable technical skills and dynamic range, and always working to pursue improvement. 

Colin is going on a decade clean and sober, as of 2024, and does not play gigs often anymore, focusing on discovering God's purpose. He does it strictly for the love at this point, for the communication, the merging of minds. Having retired mostly from live performances, he is now working on refining the art of mixing, which was the first love: long mixing tracks so that they really dance together and form something new and compelling. Exploring key mixing and perfecting the seamless mix is the new fascination, as well as a rediscovered passion and appreciation for liquid drum and bass.
