The arena-conquering duo glide from gritty rave to skyscraping arpeggios on RA.1000, a mix many years in the making.

A new name undeniably entered the pantheon of major electronic live acts over the past decade: next to Faithless, The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, now sit @feelmybicep.

The Belfast duo's music doesn't half reach for the stars: a melodic blend of ambient, breakbeat, trance and tech house, able to turn the biggest arenas into intimate affairs.

If anything, mainstream success, BRIT Award nominations and mammoth dance crossovers like "Glue" have only hardened Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar's resolve to keep innovating.

Their prized blog, running for nearly as long as the RA Podcast, regularly platforms upcoming artists. And you won't find many festival headliners releasing climate change-themed records with Indigenous artists, as they did recently on Takkuuk.

RA.1000 exists in that spirit. After many polite declines, and before a year off to usher in the next era, Bicep come through at the last: from dub techno and screwface breaks to São Paulo garage, before a tide of signature synths floods the zone. Stadium-sized intimacy at its finest.

Rounding out an electrifying year, Sandwell District deliver a mix that both celebrates Bleep's album of the year End Beginnings and pays tribute to the man who helped them get this far. Silent Servant’s discography is a plentiful one and Sandwell shows it in all its colours, ranging from hissing electro to sputtering microbeats to revolving hardcore throb doused in mysterious ambience. Blissful ripples of soft rounded synth melody slowly flow into rebounding beats and slamming dub synths, transformed into tactile laser pulses and howling gusts of distortion. The predatorily strutting bass stabs of Sterile Hand’s ‘The Hunter’ is stealthy EBM under the cloak of night, contrasted by Tropic Of Cancer’s guitar twangs worked into slick yet turbulent percussive sequences Cabaret Voltaire’s ‘Silent Command’ edited into a jittery, woozy lofi dream.

Producer and DJ RIGOONI has emerged as one of the standout names in Brazilian electronic music. A self-taught artist, he blends Progressive and Organic House into a distinctive sound that led to his track “Dreamed Numbers” being featured on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden for Balance.

In this Balance Selections mix, the Brazilian artist delivers an energetic hour of organic house that is very infectious. Featuring tracks from Anonimat, St. Eo, Mauro Masi and more, this is a high-energy set that’s perfect way to kick off the weekend.
