"For various reasons, I took a big retreat from the world of electronic music this summer. Every time I tried to listen to 'club' music my brain would just switch off, and I instead I found myself gravitating towards a steady diet of ambient, video game soundtracks, and podcasts. It was quite an insular period in my life as well; I was signed off from work on sick leave, so I didn't do any festivals or clubs, and I didn't do any DJing or music production either.
 
In retrospect, this time away was super necessary for me to get the passion back; my brain has done a huge musical reset and I'm totally obsessed again (thank god!). For now, I've emerged from my trance wormhole and and have found myself leaning  back towards the strains of electronic that I originally got into as a teenager; weighty soundsystem tracks with attitude, with an emphasis on low-end and drums. It's less melodic and more groove-driven; heads-down, not hands-up. 

I'm super happy with how this comes through in the mix, hopefully you enjoy it too!"
