I love early mornings when the house is still and quiet.  It's the perfect time for a little introspection.  Such was the case this morning, so I sat down at the piano and did some improvising.  Hope everyone listening has a wonderful and peaceful day, with a little quiet time in the mix.

A Quiet Moment

"How many crossroads are you allowed to have in life? I seem to have a lot of crossroads. I think maybe I crossed back across the same road too often." -- Queen Latifah

When I was younger, I imagined life would present a few major, yet basic crossroads. Of course, there have been many crossroads encountered since then…Life is filled with countless decisions and changes.  Some crossroads are obvious; others, not so much, and this can produce some significant stress until a choice has been made. Even after making a decision, doubt can linger: Was it the right path? Of course, only time will tell, but all crossroads, taken or missed, can still provide us with valuable life lessons and personal growth. 

This composition offers a glimpse into the crossroads we encounter in our lives, and the inner turmoil that may accompany the decision-making process.  As the piece nears the end, a very subtle change signals a decision and movement toward resolution.

Crossroads

"Depth Over Ease" is a quiet rebellion against the temptation of simplicity.
This piece chooses introspection over decoration, silence over noise, emotion over polish.
Every phrase reaches inward, unfolding like a secret remembered rather than recited.
It's a piece for those who listen with their whole self — not for ease, but for resonance.

Close your eyes. Breathe with the tempo. Let it take you deeper than comfort.

Hope has long since faded, but resolve burns quietly on. Let the cello weep and the piano echo the footsteps of the forsaken.
This is where fate is met—and remembered.
