As with many of KARIYAN’s tracks, they start quiet, before they are building into astounding heights.

La Revolución was composed by Manu Ela, a multi-faceted Chilean artist based now in Berlin. Handling the brush as an illustrator as well as the needle as a tattooist, she also sings armed with her ukulele and her pan flute.

This title refers to the own revolution that everyone must do inside himself to reach different steps in life with the goal of finding its own freedom. The singers Macarena Paz and Iralí are joining Manu in this quest with their incantations.

Four remixes complete this first release of the year 2022 with four different readings and universe from Judith Ahrends (Germany), Inessa (Austria), Dvniel (Mexico), and Dan Bay & Le Rubrique (Germany).

About this edit :
The early songs of Dr. John fascinate with their unique mixture of Creole Folklore, Rhythm & Blues and Psychedelic Rock. This special genre is called Voodoo Rock. For me the song „I walk on Guilded Splinters“ is the epitome of Voodoo Rock.
Due to its reduced instrumentation, with long percussive passages, mystical and haunting vocals, it was particularly suitable for editing, remixing and transforming it into a new century. I really hope to get the chance to play this song at one or the other festival this summer.

If you've seen me DJing then you probably know one of my guilty pleasures is mixing Manu Chao with electronic sounds. I grew up listening to Mano Negra & Manu Chao, so here is another tribute to my childhood favorite tunes.

In the form of a fervent homage to Mulatu Astatke, Romanski brings a shaky expression of the best international downbeat out there. The title track for his new EP on YNFND lands at Tepeme Música with all its glory, perfectly blending electronic and organic elements with impecable taste in sound, artwork and vibe.

Cosmopolitanism is creeping into the bedroom studios of producers worldwide.
Romanski is another agent evolving transcultural hybrids, which blend from retained folkways to modern aged club grooves.
A mixture of electronic beats in a rigid machine order and handmade organic moments woven together to form an eclectic sound. With a bit of drama, the hamburg based dj & producer Romanski, invites you on a diverse journey with his unique vision of club music.
Balearic groove patterns accompanied by repetitive bongo motives & dimmed synth themes flow along the 4 tracks (2 of them featured on 7" vinyl) of this EP. The title track "Karma Calling" is a passionate homage to Mulatu Astatke, "Tagh Tagh" is surrounded by an Iranian children’s song, "Gaugin" features a Tahitian vocoder line about the french painter and on "Ants" Romanski reflects on lyrics that came to him when resident at a sanatorium years ago.
Romanski is using his custom sound range & tools to express his downbeat grooves in this well balanced release. Hide below or turn around the umbrella with devotion and delight.
