In February I played at @foldldn for the @codeword-london launch of my Stream State compilation. The night was perfect - exactly what I was craving from a club night in London, with an intimacy that I haven't felt in years in the UK - and with recent events pre-corona threatening FOLD's existence, we were all so happy to pull that night off! Happening a month or so before the Corona lockdowns hit, with @efdemin and @jamaicasuk both on top form, it was instantly one of my highlights of the past years, so I recorded this mix for Codeword's monthly show on @threadsradio in honour of that sweet night in the East End! A big shout out to @cukier-codeword at Codeword for all his hard work and a great collab. Hope you enjoy the mix - it was recorded in one take at Studio Db in Berlin. Lots of new stuff and forthcoming Counterchange cuts in here, plus some well-tested favourites. X

Doug Cooney is a long-standing contributor to Ireland’s techno scene. Early on, he was influenced by artists such as Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, James Ruskin, Steve Rachmad, Reeko, BMB, Surgeon, and Exium. 
He is a founding member of RLSD Records, a label that has consistently supported forward-thinking techno. Alongside his output as a producer and DJ, Doug teaches at Bray Institute of Further Education, helping to support and develop the next generation of Irish techno artists.
Doug’s productions have received support from respected names like Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Luke Slater, and Rødhåd. He has worked with Aiken, Binny, Lee Holman and Jon Hester, who have remixed his tracks. Doug also regularly features on Dave Clarke’s White Noise radio show on 2fm, showcasing his unreleased music.
