A haunting hint of the style of Rachmaninoff Concerto 2, OP. 18--Maybe I'm wrong...Was it coincidental or purposed to be released in the month of August? As this piece exudes the nature of the definition of august --the respected company --of full-bodied range of emotions, displaying the solemn delicate points & potency of passion at its magnificent depth!! Didn't Rachmaninoff make several cuts to his 2nd Concerto?...I suspect he'd be thrilled to see what you've accomplished here! [Forgive me, I've forever been a fan of Tchaikovsky]--so double ff's  aren't on my mind, but 'v' is.]

I've read a few posts, including your own, that reference Rachmaninoff as a source style and feeling of the piece. I've never listened to Rachmaninoff (to my knowledge anyway), but I plan on doing so now. Great work, Christopher.

This track revisits an older piece that I posted  few years ago.  It is based on a midi recording of me trying to play the piano, but was heavily edited to cover up all the mistakes I tend to make.  I was never fully happy with the piece, even after the editing as the original sound quality, although full, perhaps had too much reverb that tended to lose some of the details.  

I have both edited the track at an individual note level as well as increasing the tempo in quite a few sections.  I have also experimented with a way of trying to give a greater spatial sense to the sound,  including the thought that the listener is also the player, or sitting right behind them.  

Any comments on the music itself or the sound production would be appreciated as always,  And as always, thank you for listening.

When We Both Drank Colours Shapes & Lines

A remake of an old one from the 80s, main guitars and vocs are live recording with two mics in the room, then some overdubbing. Part of our new recording sessions where we are both remaking some old songs on the new, better equipment and recording some new songs as well. We'll keep posting as we go. Morry and I are both singing on this one. Slowly working through the mixing and mastering on the Tascam DP24. Hope you enjoy these.

When I write music, I try to go on a journey to feel emotions, whatever they may be.  To me, music is a celebration of life; for all the pain and suffering we may endure, it is a gift to be alive.
