Bio: 

Bohdan is a producer and DJ from Kyiv, one of the Ukrainian deep and hypnotic techno scene representatives. Half of the electronic project Asyncronous and founder of the ÆNIGMA events.

Short interview with Bohdan:

1.Background/the start:

"I have a rather long background story of drum'n'bass DJ, which smoothly turned into studio work with completely different music. I've always gravitated towards production, looking for a sound that would reflect the fullest spectrum of my musical preferences. The result wasn't connected or focused directly on techno, since I'm more interested not in the genre itself, but in the aesthetics of atmospheric sounds, hypnotic components and complex musicality, which allows you to create something more than just a dance groove".

2. Inspiration:

"I travel a lot, read a lot, fond of photography and documentaries, learning more about the traditions and culture of different eras and territories. All this gives a lot of food for thought and, of course, influences creativity. Ideas can come during a long walk in the woods or a train trip, you know, when looking through the window. Basically, nature itself is a greatest source of inspiration. At least I think art is the second most beautiful thing, first comes nature."

3. Artist situation/Local techno scene? 

"The Ukrainian scene has existed for a long time, although the world drew attention to it only 7-8 years ago. Now the scene is in its prime, thanks to the talented and distinctive artists, remarkable events and venues. It is important to note that Ukraine was one of the first countries in Europe to lift restrictions on night events after lockdown. So Kyiv has become one of the most popular destinations for artists and party people over the past few months."


4. Future:

"The current situation in the world forces us to talk less about plans and work more on current projects. Hope that next year will allow to embody much more than the previous ones. That's what I wish to all of us."

Started in 2020, our Textures mix series promised to bring an alternation of deep and hypnotic selections to a UK capital that did not have much room for these slower BPMs. Two years later, after organising a few events and seeing other initiatives florishing in the city, we're reassured that there is a future for the deep sound in London.

After 100 episodes and after welcoming as many wonderful artists from around the world, our co-founder Labyrinthine closes the dance of this first chapter. We shall be back for more.

Henrii Havaas is a child of the Norwegian forest and started her DJ career in 2016. She is involved in numerous types of music events and festivals, from underground raves, ambient healing journeys to art shows. Her multilayered taste and collection of music has given her great value when it comes to sharing music with her audience. Her inspiration comes from nature, inner personal growth, playing piano and living life as an artsy experience. She plays festivals such as Ozora and has performed alongside respected artists in the scene including Marcus Henriksson, Feral, Dubsahara, the collective of Navigare Audio and the likes.

This is a cut from a 6 AM live-recording from a Berlin underground party in August this year. I got inspired to transmute a dynamic mood on the dancefloor, giving a journey through hypnotic and psychedelic landscapes, seductive and deeper melodies for those early morning hours.

Henrii has her debut gig at About blank in Berlin this weekend, so if you are around, come to hear her playing live

Straight outta Örebro, the infamous rave capital of Sweden, Fredrik’s path through the rabbit holes of Electronica has been an ever-growing, never-ending exploration through rhythms, patterns, concepts and soundscapes since the innocent 90's. Having always had a keen ear to atmosphere and lysergic depth, he’s been a widely acclaimed DJ across Scandinavia and the European festival scene, spanning from meditative Ambient, through Dub and Broken Beats to his significant uptempo TechnoTrance-hybrid sound. Since 2018 he’s the co-manager and graphic designer of Navigare Audio, a record label rooted in his love and dedication for nature, dance, art and deep, hi-fi techno.

We're super happy to have our good friend Svarog back on Revelation Session Series with the stunning mix.  Svarog is one of the Ukrainian mythology gods, the god of metal, the forge operator, the god of fire. This is the artistic name of Oleksa Moroz, musician and dj from Lviv, Ukraine.

He starts his career in 2015, releasing an Ep in the cult label Circular Limited, showcasing the best deep and profound sounds of techno, where textures and ambiances equal the power of the beat. 

Soon after he releases in the german label Nachstrom Schallplatten, Affin Ltd. y Black String Records as well as in Mexican label Illegal Alien, Animal farm or Pole groups’ own Aine.

His sound is personal and unique, always focusing in dark but evocative textures, combining saturated timbres, industrial sound and atmospheric  landscapes, even broken rhythms. 

Shades of ambient, mysticism, and real techno are the elements that characterize all his output.

Modern and futuristic sounds, far from trendiness and simplicity, from the soul to all intelligent dancefloors out there.
