A song for the coming season – melancholy and uplifting all at once. The sights, sounds, and smells bring out so many special feelings and heighten the senses – nature in its last dance before the winter, beauty in decay and the tinge of sadness that comes with it. I had this idea for a melody while playing the mandolin that spends most of its time hanging on the wall. The piece naturally evolved, undulating between reflection and celebration, and is the kind of piece that, for me, would only come to life at this time of the year.

I probably have more feelings about the songs on this album than any other I've ever done. These tracks are almost all from a very specific window of time, but I couldn't ever persuade myself to finish them. I have finished them now, and I'm glad I did. I hope you enjoy it!
