You guessed it: I conducted a jam session, recorded everything and then used Audacity to put the best parts from this sesson together to one single track using only basic audio editing techniques. 

During this particular jam session I used my humble Eurorack together with the Arturia MicroBrute and a ton of modulation. Additionally, I employed a collection of guitar pedals to bring in some effects. The squeeking noises heard throughout the track is the MicroBrute's filter in self-resonance.

The speech sample comes from the stock audio library of the Eurorack module Radio Music and is the voice of Kurt Waldheim, an Austrian diplomat. This greeting was featured on the Voyager Golden Records, two gold plated records which were included aboard both Voyager spacecraft that were launched in 1977.

I put something together in 20 minutes. I wish I still had as much time for my music as when I was younger.

It intimates the possibilities inherent in 'creative anticipation' as an active process, as opposed to just 'hoping', or 'twiddling one's thumbs'. 

Let's call it another of the various 'Arts of Living' where we create our own 'Fortune' or 'Destiny' by being Creatively Patience.  😉

I kinda like this one. Piano was a one-off from January 2024, the other stuff was added since then. Guitars added last week. Feels a bit like eighties pop rock to me but I don't know anything about that lol. Hope you like it :)

Your Promise To Break (Rob Burns)

A song for the coming season – melancholy and uplifting all at once. The sights, sounds, and smells bring out so many special feelings and heighten the senses – nature in its last dance before the winter, beauty in decay and the tinge of sadness that comes with it. I had this idea for a melody while playing the mandolin that spends most of its time hanging on the wall. The piece naturally evolved, undulating between reflection and celebration, and is the kind of piece that, for me, would only come to life at this time of the year.
