Composed in Tangier and inspired by the fallen promises of this city that bridges Europe, 'Tangier Despair' is the second single from Courrier Sud's upcoming EP on Délicieuse Records. The tracks were produced at Motorbass, the mythical studio of Philippe Zdar whose work has continued to influence Rayane. Between French and English texts, Courrier Sud delivers a dancing pop with electronic sounds, sometimes even oriental. His varied influences, whether musical or cultural, shine through the six tracks of this EP, which oscillates between indie pop and catchy rhythms. Thanks to her melodies made of light synthesizers, listeners will appreciate the candor emanating from Rayane's lyrics, which make her tracks the perfect companions to dream on a sunny lawn.

King of casual mid-tempo house, András Fox puts his stamp on Yumi Zouma's recent single, "Catastrophe". Keeping it close to home in Melbourne, András' dubby remix takes its cue from Australian punk funk bands of the '80s.

Which Way To Paradise (Wild & Free Remix)

A debut release for both band and label, Parisian duo Paradis' bring two eloquently produced tracks to Beats In Space in the form of the Parfait Tirage b/w La Ballade de Jim 12" (BIS001). Admirers from afar of DJ Tim Sweeney's weekly on air institution of 12 years (from which the label takes its name), Paradis submitted demos hoping they might hack it for some play time. 

Reared on classical and jazz, turned young hip hop rebels, turned teen club crawlers, and then university machine tinkerers, Simon Mï¿½ny & Pierre Rousseau grew out of genre jumping while young enough to stay ahead and settle into music making centered around melody and emotion. 

This touchstone approach is perfectly apparent on "Parfait Tirage", a track built around sublime synth ambiance, a compelling sequence lead, and what will one day be unmistakably recognized as the Paradis vocal sound. The b-side, "La Ballade of Jim", is a deep techno take on beloved French artist Alain Souchon's track from the 80s, and already a staple in Sweeney's live set. 

Each 12" from Beats in Space features original artwork in considerate & serial form. The first 12" features artwork by Bjorn Copeland, a 21st century schizoid collagist and member of NYC experimental music legends Black Dice. The 12" packaging constructed by Will Work For Good features a vinyl BIS logo cling. The 12" will be available on September 20th, 2011 from fine retailers worldwide. The digital version will be available October 4th, 2011 from the drab internet universe.
