More relevant now even than a year ago.... Russia and the Ukraine... although this a year ago was probably pandemic related.

Such an uplifting tune with a strong and positive message.  Truly excellent work from the three of you.  Magnificent!

Especially struck by this lyric in the light of what happened in Uvalde; "save our children".  This song addresses with superb musicianship the urgency of the times and a call to effective action.

March of Courage

Mood Exhibit - Mellodust

Hey… The angle of the sun is getting higher in the sky, and is also melting the snow. The rabbits, deer and various birds that frequent the yard are happy about that. I am as well. I was surprised to see several robins that had overwintered here. Usually they hightail it when the autumn chill sets in. That makes for some strange and sad truths about climate. I cleaned out the growing containers in the small greenhouse, and will plant them with all sorts of salad greens, from seed I grew and saved. This year’s planting will be a couple weeks earlier than usual. It is still too cold outside to do much beside snow shoveling, and there is over a foot of snow on the ground, from recent storms. It is almost mud season though, where the snow melts and mud abounds. In some places here, it is best not to travel along certain roads as the mud, known as ‘gumbo’ here, sticks to everything like glue. Once, I was walking and the mud built up on the soles of my boots, as I was uplifted off the ground by a couple inches. OK… this song. Not really a ‘song’. More of a moment of exploration. A lot of distorted overdrive. And some new ideas I stumbled upon on slide guitar, while recording. All of which is a great way to make peace with the world, as it is today. It seems I tend to make ‘noise’ in those sad moments of personal reckonings. And lucky for you and your ears you get to listen to it. Maybe not though, huh? Sugar Rush

This song is again recorded with my phone. (Next probably a DAW song!) Motörhead has a cover of "Johnny B. Goode", so I Iistened to the original from the 50s! Chuck Berry Rock ‘n Roll. The intro is great, there are more songs with similar intros. They are so cool that I wanted to learn them at the end of last year and did. In this song, I just use my version of it as the intro. I play it a little lower so it's appropriate for my song. The last chord of the intro is the 1st chord of my song, except I play it as a power chord instead of a major chord. Some of my intro version is pretty much like the original, some is my version. It's really fun to play with these Rock ’n Roll intros, I could do it for hours. In one of the covers of the songs with these intros, the one with Beethoven in the title, there's an orchestral version of Beethoven's famous symphony at the beginning. I wanted that too, but of course only on my guitar, so I made up a guitar version of it and put it in front of the Rock ‘n Roll intro. Only after that my own song begins. It's even more freely than my 1st song here. I know the chords and riffs and lyrics, but decide always when playing when to change the riff. So the recording is a way for me to learn to produce one special version and not play it differently each time. You will hear that it is played and sung very freely. So consider it as a song performance for friends, not really a well-structured and finished song. Furthermore, I play nearly everything as slides, so it is harder to play then it sounds. I wanted to play it a bit faster, but it was not possible, this is the fastest drum accompaniment my amplifier has, it doesn't go any faster. One the other hand, for some parts of the lyrics it would be really difficult to sing it any faster.

I sent a demo of the song with the basic chord sequence to Torbjørn  and Jimmy in the hope they would consider joining me for another collaboration, Torbjørn to add his exceptional keyboards, Jimmy to write lyrics and provide his powerful and distinctive vocal, luckily for me they both agreed.

Torbjørn  and Jimmy’s contributions have lifted the song to a level way beyond my original demo, thanks very much for your outstanding work guys.

Triumph over adversity is the theme here, I think we can all relate.
