How do you interpret the literal translation of karaoke - empty orchestra? 

Well I had a go; started with opening the BBC orchestra Plug in - spitfire audio - violins.  Made something very simple and looped it.
I had this playing through my main stereo which my decks are plugged into.. I let this playing on a loop and went down the hall in my house and used my digital tascam recorder to record from the far end of the house. I left this recording. 
I went back to the decks and selected an old classical record - Ketelbey Orchestral Concert - Bells Across the Meadow. I played this slowed down as low as my turntable can go, with no bass and treble to full... slowly faded this in. Near the end I pulled the 'earth' cable out the back of the mixer so it goes a bit crackly and caused one of the speakers to cut out. Perfect! 

That was more or less it. I opened this recording back up in Ableton and edited for a bit longer, reversing bits and adding extra effects.

Disquietly an Empty Orchestra From Down the Hall [disquiet0646]

this orchestra is empty in several senses of the word, being made entirely out of morse code, MIDI, raw data, and human folly.

i converted the words "Disquiet Junto Project 0646" to morse code and used the resulting MIDI files to trigger a jazz kit in ableton: Disquiet (kick) Junto (hats) Project (snare) 0646 (toms). for "empty orchestra" i used archive.org to download an ISO file of a karaoke "Video CD" and imported it into audacity as raw data. confession: the first file i found was "The Hits of Barry Manilow Karaoke VCD" - so be it. his classic "i write the songs" provided the resulting screeches which i fed through neural dsp nolly for two channels of harsh noise.

i gave myself 60 minutes to complete this project, but came in at 80 minutes. in my defence, i had to do the laundry while audacity was converting manilow, so i think i ran up 75 minutes total. thanks, barry, you really do write the songs.

What a concept for Karaoke: Empty Orchestra? What does that even mean when there's a playback track sounding? There's no singer ok, but the band should be there right?
Anyway; I continue my research on orchestral samples from my different libraries and imagined an empty concert hall where some sort of sonic ectoplasm remains and is captured by my field recorder.
So this is 9 tracks or  sampled orchestras treated with ridiculous amounts of three different reverbs.
There's also a real cello popping in and out .

In the stones (naviarhaiku541)

Hey, I've been recording a commissioned album using my new Ronroco (got it a month ago in Argentina and did my very first recording right [there](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJBdmS7yqtk)) 

Now it's on my studio along with a fellow, old Ronroco I had and a little brother, my charango.

I have to record 5-6 pieces using mostly that instrument with eventual appearances of other instruments and the other two (ronroco+charango).

This prompt gave me the idea of an ambient track, there's this technique of strumming the instrument, widely used on South American folklore, that produces a steady drone, no rhythm just the sustained strumming.

I recorded several tracks of that, along with loads of reverb and delays and some simple arpeggios .

There's a low filtered brass drone (sample libraries) but this is 99% the ronroco droning.

The track started this early after noon is finished now, and it's still day here, so a true day-drone for you.

In some words:
Composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist. Born in Argentina,
I studied music in Buenos Aires, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris.

For 20 years, I developed an important career as a session and backing musician in Argentina and Europe, playing, among other instruments, the bass, touring and recording with many jazz, rock, fusion, world, Latin and tango bands.

At the same time, I worked as an arranger, producer and musical director with many projects and artists in the USA, Argentina and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, I performed my compositions live with my own band in Buenos Aires and began a solo recording career with the worldwide release of my first album "The Years Alone" on the North American label Green Linnet/Xenophile. On this album I arranged and performed 11 of my songs written between 1986 and 1993. I played most of the instruments, but included guest appearances by some great South American players.

My recording career continued with "Segundo Ciclo" (1997), released worldwide by Timeless Records, and 12 more albums released between 2000 and 2016.

Currently, I work as an on-demand film/TV composer while continuing to play live and produce.
