Swan Meat - Mute

Written in response to the rapidly deteriorating international dialogue. While politique isn't a subject I venture into in art, of course, we live in the time we do. Intentions are somewhat difficult to describe, but I think you'll get the gist... 

Sound sources include:

POTUS' George W. Bush (Empire of Oppression, State of the Union Address), and Donald Drumpf (and his populistic and thin skinned stream of complaints);

Colonel Gaddafi's 2009 appeal to the United Nations for Equal Standing of all nations, and the abolishment of the UN Security Council, while the 'small' countries of the world are subject to the reign of wars at the hands of the mighty five... all the while siphoning money from his nation's coffers. 

Marine Le Pen, and her dialogue of 'If you can't say it', and 'the name of the enemy', which somehow peaked the admiration of 39.9% of French voters.

Fidel Castro, and his 'admiration' of the 'wonderfulness' of the American people and their press core, on his first diplomatic trip to the US.

Spanish MEP Iratxe Garcia-Perez’s appropriate response to Polish MEP of Misogyny, and his conclusion to dialogues on chess and physics, Lorwin-Mikke.

Emperor Haile Selassie, and his words to the UN General Assembly in 1963, apropos 'Until-s'.

And of course, the many voices that say 'you are not my president'.

Daniel McBride studied Composition at the Royal College of Music, London, under the tuition of Haris Kittos, generally supported by a scholarship from the Drexler foundation. Daniel has written music for clients such as Landrover, Saatchi&Saatchi, Channel 4 Random Acts, Burberry, and Grindr, as well as numerous short films and documentaries. Daniel has worked in collaboration with Photographer Katie Barlow with the UN, Artist Alexander James, Artists from the Royal College of Art, Poet Max Wallis. His music, as he continues to develop, is more and more retrospective often drawing more influence from the themes and issues around his own queer identity. Daniel is a Contemporary Composer and an Electro-acoustic composer that aims to explore cross genre collaborations between London’s classical music scene and the Underground queer scene. Through experimental vocal and electronic music. Daniel aims to bring accessibility to classical music and its use throughout queer subcultures.
