Akustische Täuschung # 2 - Phil Weé

This summer I was invited to the spectacular Pan:et C festival twice to play some hot fiesta afternoon tunes on our beloved Dubstation floor. So I packed my suitcase full of acoustic gems and took the next rocket to spend some great holidays on the red planet.
This mixtape is not a full recording of both gigs but more like a "best of" from 6 hour playtime in total.

On that windy morning in mid-winter, Hekske (the little witch) woke up when Falke (the 9 year old witch apprentice) had once again crept under her moss blanket to keep warm and dry.  The weather was exceptionally warm for a day in January, but soon afterwards torrential rain started to lash down on the forest, making the girls decide to snuggle a bit deeper under their moss blanket.  Despite the horrendous weather, the witches were in an excellent mood as it was the first day of the new year, which meant that they would light their annual bonfire and exchange stories with the forest animals.
After getting up, the girls drank a warm mug of herbal tea before scrambling for shelter behind a huge beech tree for yet another rainstorm, which was so violent that the thunder was rumbling several times (which is a very rare event in January).  This surely meant that there was an unusual amount of energy in the air, and the witches were wondering what was going to happen during the new year bonfire.
Luckily, soon afterwards the rain abated and a few hours later, the little witch saw that it was dry enough and asked a squirrel family to go and collect firewood.  A few minutes later, a pile of firewood was lying at the feet of the witches, and the girls were already busy evacuating all little creatures from the heap, with some help from Harald The Spider.  The little witch was looking forward to light the fire, as she had learned a few new magic tricks from the Eldnorns, the reclusive tribe of Icelandic fire witches which she had visited last month.
Suddenly they heard some excited yells in the distance.  The witches hurried towards the remote area of the forest where the screams were coming from, and they soon found out it was Zhanna The Squirrel who had discovered something really sensational : a big egg.  The little witch was completely mesmerized by this mysterious egg, which was sparkling in all colors of the rainbow.  This could only be a dragon’s egg!!  This was a sensational discovery indeed, as dragons had gone extinct in this part of Europe since the Middle Ages.  But now that the witches had chased away the humans from this forest, it had once again become a safe haven for all animals and plants, and the dragons must have sensed that too.  Yet, it was a complete mystery how this dragon egg had ended up here in this forest.
Following her deeper instinct, the little witch decided to take the egg in her hands.  After the first touch, the egg immediately started to glow and they could even see a pink pulsing light deep inside the egg.  The girl decided to take the egg near the bonfire, where a family of dunnocks was already weaving a safe nest for the dragon egg.  Dragon eggs can only hatch if they are being kept at the correct temperature.  Hekske and Falke cuddled the egg for a long time and made the solemn pledge to protect this dragon egg at all cost.  This was surely going to become an epic new year …
