A veces tratamos de escapar de esta realidad, tratamos de escondernos en un falso hogar creado con paisajes virtuales y creencias falsas, pero cuando escalamos unos peldaños más arriba y abrimos nuestros ojos, nos sentiremos pequeños y vulnerables. Ahora  es cuando buscamos nuestras raíces, la paz en nuestra alma y la conexión que tenemos con el núcleo de la tierra.

From our roots comes the elements that make us what we are, the essence of your nature and the things you like. Sometimes we try to escape from that reality, we  try to hide in a fake home made by virtual landscapes and fake beliefs, but when you go some steps up and open your eyes, you will feel small and vulnerable. Now you look for your roots, for the peace in your soul and your connection with the core of the earth.

What a great time we had the last two months with our brother from Chile. Its so nice to go back to our roots and realise that we share the same thoughts about mother earth and our existence. Expressing this minds through music is what we like most. So press play, lean back and enjoy! :) <3

‘Feelings,’ the brooding and pulsating lead single taken from Guy Andrews forthcoming album Tåke features the vocals of Alev Lenz. The haunting and emotive piece allows Alev space to let her vocals sit between layers of strings and electronic textures, interacting and weaving in and out of each other.

As well as composing soundtracks for several high-profile German films, and collaborating with established artists such as Anoushka Shankar (on the title track from Emmy nominated album ‘Land of Gold’), Alev’s breakthrough came last year when her song ‘Fall Into Me’ was used in Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror episode, ’Hated In The Nation’.

Revelation of Sound is happy to present the DJ and producer from Juan Pablo Cerábolo. Juan was born in 1985, in Buenos Aires, Argentina and gradually developed an interest in music by his mother's influence who was listening to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Depeche Mode and other great musicians who inspired him too. In the 90's, as a teenager, styles like Punk rock and Rock & Roll, led him to play his first instrument (guitar), beginning the first stage of his artistic life. Throughout the 2000s he discovered electronic music such as House and Trance, sounds of Deep House, Progressive House and Downtempo. Today, still befriending the key boards and with several productions edited, and mixes made, continues to make progress on this wonderful road.

After a little break, we are now delighted to welcome ALUNA to our podcast series.
 
ALUNA  depicts the joined talents and complementary creations of Maywa and Steffen Kirchhoff, world travellers and soul explorers. Their music project aspires to the creation and spreading of ritualistic music, leading the listeners to reconnect with the Earth, to harmonize with Nature, and with its endless wonders. It’s healing music, it’s music to dance, it’s music to love.
Their vision is embodied by their selection of sounds, idyllic melodies, and fascinating vocals, all permeated of Latin American flavours. In fact, their music project finds its origin in the Columbian forests where these beautiful souls first met, as soloist artists. The word ALUNA also descends from the natives of that land. Among the Kogi people, it stands for the “invisible spirit realm”, the source and intelligence of life. After that magic encounter, the two artists gathered again in April 2017 on the shores of the Baltic sea, where their first melodies were produced. This marked the nascence of ALUNA. Since then, the two started their spiritual journey across Europe spreading their message of reconciliation through live-sets, often uplifted by cacao ceremonies.
Talking about this set, Steffen stated “For UCR we wanted to create something really unique”, an unparalleled production by two inspired and inspiring artists, created with pure love. The enchanting blend of Maywa’s live vocals and Steffen’s organic sounds reproduces the vibe of their ceremonial live-sets. The magical journey begins with an invocation by Maywa who gently guides the listeners to connect with themselves, with their higher mind, with their essence, and to open an ethereal connection with the whole, with the elements, with the cosmos. The energy of the moon inspired her to plant the seed for this podcast. A deep travel into her sensibility and vulnerability prepared her soul to connect with the sounds and melodies that would have then composed the podcast. Those drive listeners through heavenly forests, in the inviolate Nature. A travel in space and time till the origin of the world. A dark silent world purely animated by the potential of life to exist.
Now lay back comfortable, dim the lights, make sure nobody will disturb the listening. Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the journey.

Don Son is a Swiss music magician who is one of the key components of driving forward the record label Wildfang Music as well as developing the underground house scene within his home town of Basel. It is an absolute pleasure to have him on board and has put together a smooth hour of melodic, deep and eerie vibes for a perfect November sunset. If he is not putting together quality mix tapes you can usually hear him with his partner in crime Ioanis producing top of the drawer tracks on labels such as our friends Magician on Duty, Making You Dance or their very own Wildfang Music.

His love for alternative styles of music and varieties within genres keeps us hooked on to his musical journey, with seamless transitions and track selection you are in for a treat for this next hour.

Holger Hecler ist seit über 20 Jahren ein fester Bestandteil der Berliner Club Kultur. Ob beim Kollektiv Bachstelzen oder dem Kater Blau (Bar25), Holger ist immer dort wo Happenings entstehen die weit über Zeit und Raum hinausgehen. Seine zweite Heimat hat er auch beim grandiosen Kölner Label Feines Tier gefunden.

Holgers Musik lässt sich in keine Schublade stecken. Er hat es geschafft seiner Musik über die Jahre seinen ganz eigene Note zu geben. Mal südamerikanisch verspielt, dann wieder rhythmische Gitarren die dahinrocken um dann doch wieder im deepen elektronischem zu münden. Er ist einfach ein Wanderer zwischen den Welten. Respekt …

I wanted to try and do more than just mix up a DJ set, so have created some more of my own edits with drum loops and organic sounds of the middle east blended with modern electronica into this story. 
I like to take faster tracks and slow them down and tweak the keys to bring out the vocals and instruments more for a more laidback haunting sound.
One thing I love about this genre and what I have learnt from the more established producers is the freedom to do what you want and go in what ever direction the mood takes.
I do hope I've managed to record at least some of what I feel !

Former Pro DJ and lifetime music lover.  Used the SL1200's for years until finally moving into the 21st century with Traktor.
Always been a fan of live instruments and melodic rhythms, both electronic and natural.
I play all kinds of house music, whether it be progressive, funky, latin, tech etc etc., but for the last couple of years I've been focussing on slowing things down (I think it comes with age!) and enjoying the music for what it is.  Now I just play for fun, so no pressure and I just listen and appreciate.
Now getting into a little producing some nice edits and hope to bring out something totally original soon :)
