riCo LaForetMagik's Early works...Yeah, my 'Early tracks', from 2012-2018.
I started interests in music production by 2011 I guess..I explored many musical genres and developed myself, listening, learning, falling...but definetly emerging sound design skills steps by steps...
As well influenced by UK Dubwise & heavyweight Dub Steppa soundsystem culture and some mixed electronic music (Trance psychedelic genres, , dark electro, progressive techno, psytek…) but above all, the sounds of the 80’s (italo-disco, dark synth, electro disco, minimal wave, horror disco and movies soundtracks like John Carpenter, of course !!...)The melodic 'Retro' inspiration mixed with nowadays electronic music is obviously a big part of the project.
Here, a selection of tracks representing a variety of all music styles I liked and mixed together...

A recent track, between Darkpy, forest, darkprog with slower Bpm like psy progressve or downtempo as it is at 128.Bpm. Unlike most darkpsy forest style it is very melodic...as a progressive track I tried to make it slowly gradualy deveop from a darkly begining to a ligher melodic ending...it was the concept from starting this particulary "special" track I should say...
If you don't like dapkpsy or gloomy forest style, give it a try, because the first part is like classic darkpsy but melodies grows towards the lights...a totally different universe when the final drop gradually arrives like the rising stars...

riCo - Tunefulness for robots

An old track coming from all my messy folders...yes, this one is darker...with a touch of horror disco with some touch of italo. As an old track there is no arrengement, mixing or mastering...It was created in Ableton Live, playing directly live and direct, with no automations...I know it's a bad track, but it could be better with a nice composition...here, the track is just repetitive and monotonous, but the bass is nice and the chords keep a certain  tension, wich I like....So, maybe a remix is coming...we'll see !

A track made two weeks ago that I delete from my profile for some reason....Now it is remixed and a little bit  "mixed" I should say...I worked on it during the last weekend...
Sorry, but If some elements were re-worked, the bass and some synths have a totaly new sound design and the tempo is the fastest I done for this kind of music for exemple, and so on...( I even changed the name of the track !! )

riCo - Livin' Up Fast

A remix of "S*ve your Te*ars" from the famous synthpop singer The W.E.. I'm not that much a mainstream ”hits” guy, but when I listened to the original version it was obvious that, first I loved the track sensibilities...and I wanna bring my own feeling about the song with a few changes like adding new melodies, changing some instruments sound design and a longer arrengement with more 'space'...taking time between verses / chous of the "radio" edit version...

Obviously and Unfortunately SC reject my "Vocal remix" for Copyrights...even if I changed melodies, tempo, pitch, arrengement and the new "genre" of the track, with my particular ”Italo" vibes or with a more 80s ’nostalgia’ touch I should say...moving from a frustrating 4.mn mainstream radio edit to a 7.mn - Italo / pop remix ! ( Of course I had to keep the vocals - with a litle bit of work on the reverb, soft delay and so...anyway I'm not really a singer, and even if I was singing (!!!) I'm pretty sure that SC would have deny the cover in any case... so I just changed the sequence of certain verses but that doesn't matter...

So, here is the instrumental version for now…wich seems a little boring in my point of view because I keep the same arrengement with some little changes but certainly don't wanna re-make a shorter radio instru edit !!...

So, I decided to make a ”vocoder” version by skipping certain verses or chorus, keeping the best as a "dub version"  with delay and effects on the voice lik…as a Jamaican Dub producer !! LOL, …not that bad, I will obviously make some changes and try to post it on my other SC account ( "Christine" dedicated to Italo / new wave / horror disco / minimal synth and so...( mostly reposts )…or Yootube, just to see if I succeed on my new version…
In any case, I will find a way and I will post this "voco-vocal" somewhere..!!!

By the way, as a graphic artist and motion visuals creator, I already done some loops from 30.s to 1,30.mn for my videos on my Instagram and Faceboook accounts, and that's the only way to listen some parts of it for the moment...( verses / chorus / instrus loops...) 

I talk a lot because I’m so frustrating !!…So I stop here…and I don't mean The Track IS a ”HIT” but some will love the Touch Or The new feeling of the tune…I think..!!?

A long and 'complex' italo / synthwave track full of nostalgia from the sound of the 80's with a modern approach I would say...I only used contemporary synths ( no hardware unfortunately...) and not tried to emulate the classics 80's drums sounds too...
There's a lot of melodies, arpeggios, synths...the composition and above all the arrengement gave me a lot of work to complete a coherent tune without being boring...I was just a young producer at that time and was searching new  technics, ideas and learning sound design and music production, it was in 2014...

❖ Tanto Amore 🇮🇹 2012 

▷ The Tune, The First One !...An early track from 2012 made with almost nothing, I mean, at that time, as a graphic artworker, I always loved learning new techniques, tools, softwares, apps...after learning various music instruments (bass, guitar, melodica, percs and so on...), digital music production was new and fun for me... I was just trying to make the 'music' sounds good...so I tried differents genres (dub, steppa, electro, downtempo, disco, dark minimal, progressive musics, psychedelic all-genres but definetly deeply influenced by italo, 80's, minimal synth and horror disco...)
This tune of  italo style is what I call 'The Start' for me.
I really feeled it through the process, and it took only a couple of days to make it. I knew I found some good vibes, but it was not really what I wanted to 'play' at that time (I wanted darker vibes, like a lot of electro-tech sounds from the early and mid 00's. finally I realized that I had, without really wanting to, expressed deep feelings buried in me that came out.
Fast enough I started to appreciate the warm, nostalgic melody and the good vibes that came out of it ... But I understood my own creation which is not a randomly feelings I builded up... it is, above all, the story gradually told throughout the tune that make it 'Alive'. Quickly I found It definitely worked better than I even could expected.
I succed to translate the feelings that lived in me at that time, partly in love affair and a certain nostalgia that came out... 
By 2011 I slowly started listening and really feel the Italo disco vibes...(from the classic 80's italo classics but also more obscures italo rarities...In the same time I discovered all the 'nu italo wave' from the early 00's till now, with artists such as I-F, Alden Tyrell, Kid Machine, WLDV, Legowelt, Ali Renault, Bangkok Impact, and so many on...).
Today I still find that that this tune 'Tanto Amore' is definitely one of my best italo tune;  I have evolved a little bit since...but This track (wich had a really bad sound mix : this was not the most important thing at that time..I had so much to learn...) in a very minimalist musical format, I found, through music, how to translate the deepest feelings buried deep within Me and especially this feeling of "telling a story", express myself ("with the few skills I had from that time, the Magic happens when emotions cames out of a computer, a 'machine' with 'coding systems' I don't know how it works but I know it can comfort you, make you cry or dancing all night long ").
In other words, I just want to say that it was the first time that I clearly understood that the language of music allows me to express myself deeply in a way that I could never express otherwise ...
That's really a 'special' tune for me...

Curious music lover and collectioner...Younger I was firstly influenced by punk and hardcore, then discovered reggae & dub music universe, wich I was deeply involved for long years...
It took some time but I finaly widen my musical experience by discovering electronic music through dark electro from the late 90's and mainly the 'nu wave' of italo-disco' mostly coming from Netherland with artists such as I-F, Alden Tyrell, Legowelt and the Viewlexx label...
Later I honed my tastes towards progressive techno and psy-tech...
Now, since a while, my tastes moves to psychedelic trance and most of its countless sub-genres...Mainly "Night time" like twilight, darkpy, forest or experimental, but today my tastes have honed to higher Bpm's like Hitech or even psycore...the music of today and tomorrow...

As a young 'music poducer' I tried all kind of styles, but nowadays I tend to mix all those differents musical vibes to slowly deepen my own « substance »
