You are about to find out that In Every Dream Home: the upcoming debut album from Melbourne post-punk trio ATOM (out next week -  June 21) is full of potential singles, it’s the very model of “all killer no filler”. We thought we’d tease one more out before it drops. This one is Harry Howard fronted and penned, a lugubrious lamentation on life’s disappointments, an angry jeremiad affronting a dark and expanding storm of synth. 

"This is an early one inspired by the dark relentlessness of that damned Ben Hepworth's satanic mills. Sometimes you almost feel as if you live in a state of grace. Then the gears jam, the whole machine starts burning and all you are left with are strange memories. Worlds falling apart, over and over, laid to waste. That kind of thing." Harry Howard

ATOM is a new project/ collaboration between a trio of Melbourne post-punk heavyweights: Harry Howard (Crime and the City Solution, These Immortal Souls , Pink Stainless Tail, Harry Howard and the NDE), Edwina Preston (The Moll Flanders Band, Harry Howard & The NDE) and Ben Hepworth (REPAIRS, Eastlink). Dual vocals (Harry & Edwina) synth, keyboards, drum machine and scorching guitar make for razor-sharp, dark and edgy synth pop. The result sits somewhere between Chrome and The Cramps, Suicide and the B52’s, with a haze of Hawkwind. Dirty, swampy New Wave.

was founded in 2013 in the city of Nizhny Novgorod
for 6 years of creativity performed at many venues in Russia
at major festivals such as "Mowgli Coast".
the band released 3 studio albums and several music videos. as a result, it gained recognition in various musical environments and also acquired her own fan base.
in 2018, the team went on tour, having traveled many cities, including large Moscow and St. Petersburg
At the moment, the team is engaged in writing new material. Preparing for a new tour in Europe. Actively looking for cooperation with other music bands.

The volvox brothers are an alternative rock band who is formed by 4 brothers aged 16, 14, 11 and 9 years old. Saturn is their latest track, combining classical and alternative music.

It's A Hit! brings together four songs recorded by The Stroppies at home on their Tascam 4 track in mid 2017. Permeated by dystopian imagery of machines building machines and cats driving cars, It's a Hit! is perhaps the Stroppies most idiosyncratic release. Indeed, the title is a humorous nod to the inherent lo-fi quality of the recordings, a sound that some might not consider to be "radio friendly". Surley though, the songs contained herein are still unashamedly pop, albeit adorned in crackle and hiss. For reference think Alex Chilton's "Like Flies on Sherbert", early Swell Maps, and a touch of Loaded-era Velvet Underground shuffle. Originally released only in Australia via Hobbies Galore as a limited edition 7" in a hand stamped sleeve, the long sold-out EP is now being given an international release on the eve of the band's debut UK tour. Limited to 500 copies on white vinyl, and with a different sleeve to the first pressing.

Algebra Suicide was a Chicago poetry-music duo consisting of poet and visual artist Lydia Tomkiw and musician Don Hedeker. They formed in 1982 and self-released a 4-song EP that year. It featured a 60's Vox Guitar Organ, a precursor to the synthesizer guitar, and a Multivox Rhythm Ace drum machine. In 1984 they released their 2nd EP ditching the guitar organ for a Casiotone MT-40. Their debut album ‘Big Skin’ was released in 1986 on cassette and featured 13 new compositions with more complex arrangements. A vinyl compilation album, "The Secret Like Crazy", was released in 1988. It collected 20 tracks picked from ‘Big Skin’  and the first two EPs plus unreleased songs. In 2012 we released an 18-track compilation of their first 3 singles with bonus tracks. 
“Still Life” is a 16 track compilation that collects the 9 remaining songs from ‘Big Skin’, 3 songs from ‘The Secret Like Crazy’, and 4 songs from various compilations. Lydia and Don call their approach "Avant Garage" citing inspiration from Patti Smith, Frank O'Hara, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed. Don plays guitar in a hauntingly stark style like Glenn Branca, Tom Verlaine, or Vini Reilly. He then adds
Casio keyboards and minimal electronic percussion, creating a moody, atmospheric backdrop for Lydia's poems. Lydia's words span a broad range of twisted real-life observations, and are delivered in a deadpan fashion with her distinct Midwestern accent. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each LP is housed in a jacket designed by Eloise Leigh and a 16-page booklet with lyrics, press clippings and photos. Though Lydia passed away in 2007, her genius lives on in these recordings. Please respect her decadence.
