This is my first composition for a full orchestra. It is an homage to Carl Stalling, the great composer of classic Warner Bros cartoons. His music defines what cartoon music is, and this piece is an attempt to reproduce those stylistic ideas. Music composed and produced by Tiago da Silva.

MUSIC AS A FORM OF RETALIATION AGAINST INDUSTRIAL STAGNANCE

Strange as it may seem, music is created for other reasons than making a living. For many of us it is a way of staying interested in a life that is fraught with disappointment and otherwise encumbered with obstructions to contentment. Some have asked me why I don't create music that is more accessible, with potential for popular appeal. I'll consider that whenever it seems there is a shortage of such. For now, I focus on other sorts of potentials. Not much point in spending valuable time attempting popularity through imitation, and trying to do that better than others.
