Recording under his Raw Essence alias, Dave Lee teams up with Lifford on Do It Again – a soaring soul cut and the second single to be released from his forthcoming album Produced With Love II.

Dave Lee has been one of the UK’s foremost champions of vocal house music and soul for decades, collaborating with acclaimed vocalists and instrumentalists and amassing a hugely impressive discography along the way. A man of many monikers, Lee’s latest single lands under his Raw Essence alias: one that neatly encapsulates the appeal of this timeless slice of soul.

Do It Again is a pure, unfiltered delight: a song so resolutely ecstatic and flawlessly produced its enough to make you weep with joy. Vocals are provided by former Public Demand and Artful Dodger member and longtime champion of UKG and soulful house Lifford, whose silky voice transports you to a time when outfits were unashamedly flamboyant and “funky” had yet to become a dirty word.

Included on the single package is a remix from LAZYWAX, the musical project of Hans Müller and Wolfgang Schneider. Their reinterpretation adds bright chords and an electro-inspired bassline, transforming the organic warmth of the original into an icy, cool-as-hell banger.

The chunky "You Decide" is a brand new slice of modern boogie-fied house built around a killer Malavasi-style chord progression. Maurissa provides a sultry vocal, sounding somewhat Patrice Rushen-ish, with a plethora of analogue synth riffs happening behind her. For those who shy away from a full song, check Maurissa’s Message, in which an old-school answering machine takes centre stage, whilst also bringing some of the jazzier instrumentation to the fore. Byron is considered an original House Music Artist, known for his soaring falsetto voice. As the lead singer of the group Ten City he scored international success with “That’s the Way Love Is” reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts and the U.K.  national top ten charts as well as other territories. Ten City’s first album Foundation is certified Gold and Silver around the world, and is considered the first album to attain international success for House Music. 

Bobby & Steve first met Byron when Ten City performed at their legendary Garage City night back in 1992. They have always admired him as a 
singer and songwriter, so it was an honour to collaborate with him and have him on the label.

With the track already receiving massive support from the likes of Louie Vega and Paul Trouble Anderson, and Louie acknowledging it as a future classic in the making, we believe it’s got all the right ingredients.  

Bobby & Steve’s album will be out in July and features some amazing artists including,
Jean Carne, Leroy Burgess, Stephanie Cooke, Duane Harden, Jon Pierce and Sheree Hicks.
