finca am is a collective made up of a record label, a CD and DVD compilation series, parties, sound systems, radio shows, visual art, electronic music and live music. Come dive into our Balearic world. 

finca am – Electronica Balear Vol. 1 

The compilation "finca am - Electronica Balear Vol. 1" consists of two CDs and one DVD in an elaborately and lovingly produced packaging. The 32-page booklet contains the complete song lyrics, unique illustrations by the renowned artist Will Barras and pictures by four of the most distinguished photographers of the island.

CD1 has been compiled by Arian a.k.a. Arian 911, who is a founding member of OMMS, as well as one of Ibiza´s most regarded djs and producers with various residencies at the island´s most famous clubs. Furthermore, none other then José Padilla, one of the undisputed godfathers of the Balearic style, actively supported the making of this compilation and also contributed his latest track “Dragonflies”, a co-operation with the Scottish singer and songwriter talent Kirsty Keatch. “Arian´s Back At The Finca Selection” features previously unreleased works of established OMMS projects such as Slow Pulse & Cathy Battistessa, new OMMS recordings like Lux Second feat. Nuwella, as well as inspiring tracks of further artists from the Balearic scene. These include for example the legendary Harvey or the groundbreaking Four Tet. Another highlight is the song “I´m Your Girl”, for which Deee-Lite founder DJ Dmitry teamed up with Julee Cruise, the voice of David Lynch´s “Twin Peaks” soundtrack.

On CD2, OMMS finally assembles a timeless choice of the label´s worldwide known classics, which have been released on the earlier, most successful Café Del Mar volumes and on other renowned compilations. Never before have these songs been released together – really a long overdue tribute to all the artists who have been part of the journey during the first 15 years of the label.

The DVD impressively documents the long lasting and close co-operation of OMMS and the local video artists FR4M3. It shows a selection of the finest audiovisual productions from this time, as well as an introductory journey, which vividly demonstrates the label history and the before mentioned ideological and visionary aspect of the project. It also includes several OMMS music videos, partly showcasing the more club oriented side of the label.

Each single track, song or video on finca a.m. has a particular story to tell, but eventually it is one and the same story… the one of the true spirit of the Balearic experience, told in different tonalities. It is a story of diversity and tolerance, of a conscious attitude to life, carried by various musical styles, harmonically blending together. On finca a.m. this story is told by different artists from all over the planet…..

Splitpot is in love with  electronic tunes ever since. Until 2009 he worked in legendary Berlin nightclubs such as Berghain, Cafe Moskau, Weekend and Cookies where he was strongly influenced by the Berlin Tech House sound. His productions are best described with mystic, deep and always forward. He produces several other projects and artists and runs his own studio in Berlin.  For those who need advice in producing, mixing and mastering he offers workshops and services in his company “Dr Bounce”. Techno is the reason that makes this guy getting up every morning. And he loves it.
