Ufos Summer 2014 Tour

Recorded on my 37th birthday (7/15/14)at the Burren Yoga and Meditation Centre in Ireland during there July yoga retreat.

My halo was dented on a beach earlier that day so it was disabled with two notes unusable due to the dent.

I dedicate to all the beautiful souls of the people journeyed with on our own personal journeys to spiritual and physical health.

Birthday Meditation - Live at the Burren Yoga Centre, Ireland

Recorded at Blackhead point in the Burren, Ireland on July 28, 2014. This was the same beach that I tried to record at on my birthday and fell back with my Halo on my back and put a small dent in the handpan (two notes affected). I came back two weeks later to try to cleanse the negative feelings from damaging the instrument. So this is performed on my Halo Shiraz (minus two notes).



Mushroom Stone Dreaming - Live at Blackhead, Burren, Ireland

Recorded at Blackhead point in the Burren, Ireland on July 28, 2014. Roman Echos from Beyond - Live at the Roman Fort of Mediobogdum - Cumbria, UK

My wife and I were lucky to re-charge in this recently converted church in Mountmellick during a tour of Ireland with the Seattle based Irish/Folk/Punk band "The Bog Hoppers". Our lead singer came from Mountmellick and his Aunt was friends with the new owners of this soon to be Hostel (but wasn't quite finished yet). So, Nichola and I had a church to ourselves (even no staff) for three days. The converted sanitary's acoustics were just perfect. This was one of the highlights of the tour.

There is only slight EQ on this recording. It is all natural reverb with the mic about 7 feet away from the handpan.

I had the chance to record in a powerful sacred place, it was cemetery with chapel ruins. I recorded in the middle of the chapel. It was an honor to serenade the souls barrier in this sacred place.

Resonating Remembrance - Live at the Fanore Cemetery, Burren, Ireland

Came across a sign for a Japanese garden when driving up to the old Roman fort. We pulled over and after a couple of wrong trails, came across a beautiful hill of stacked rocks and trees with stone steps. Didn't know if this was the spot, but we felt an energy there that called for us to record a song there.

Japanese Garden Meditation in a British Forest - Lake District, Cumbria, UK

Recorded at the Elva Plain Stone Circle across from Bassenthwaite Lake. We had a fun time finding this circle after Nichola chatted with the sweetest older man (Elwin - who had long hair and a beard that was all white) who was working on his garden on a farm near the place. His best direction was, go through the gate and go "squinty eye left" The best part was going through the cow and sheep pastor going up the hill to get to the circle.

This was my favorite (and most powerful) visit to the area's stone circles. It may have been the energy from the people visiting or the power of the circle at sunset. 

This circle is one of the oldest in England being constructed around 3200 BC.

I enjoyed a nice conversation with a couple who regularly vista the circle. They talked about how the different circles get their power (solstice, people, meditation) but the circle also needs to be re-energized. They shared a wine offering with me expressing there gratitude of how I was giving back to the circle and putting energy into it through music.

After a long journey through Wales, we descended south to our yoga retreat in Devon. We mapped the Sat coordinates on our iPhone and new the retreat was in the Dartmoor National Park. When we mapped it, it dropped a pin, but led us to the center of the park. Without reception we drove through the park. We realized this was the most beautiful place and we would have never saw it if we weren't lost. So we decided to enjoy it. We found our bearings and were off to the edge of the park to get the freeway to go to the correct place when we drove by Hound Tor  at sunset....we had to pull over and perform at this amazing natural rock formation. Legends have it is haunted by hounds. You can hear in the improvisation an outpouring of tension and emotion but acceptance in this journey.

This was one of my favorite recordings from the project. Enjoy!

Perpetual Stare - Buckfast Abby, Devon, England

The most popular megalithic site in Wales, Pentre Ifan is a splendid burial chamber with a huge capstone delicately poised on three uprights. Once known as Arthurs' Quoit, Pentre Ifan means Ivan's Village. This monument, dating back to about 3500 BC and unusually oriented north-south, stands on the slopes of a ridge commanding extensive views over the Nevern Valley.

Goat Song at Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber - Wales

Castell Coch is a 19th-century Gothic Revival castle built on the remains of a genuine 13th-century fortification. It is situated on a steep hillside high above the village of Tongwynlais, to the north of Cardiff in Wales.
