After working a long week on the road, I was looking forward to getting home for the weekend. My Ford let me down in Birmingham Alabama where I wound up in a hotel room for the night which allowed me to write this song.

When I was a young boy, Daddy bought an old wood cabin on the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama side. We spent a lot of time there making memories for a lifetime.

My Father in Law often sat out on his front porch in his rocking chair, always there to share his Southern Wisdom and old sayings. I thought about him as I wrote this song. I'm a better man for having known him.
