I am a finger-style guitarist living on the Texas high plains.  At the core of my music is melody that is inspired and informed by my Christian faith, family, friends, and countless influences through the years from the great composers, to jazz, folk, rock, Latin, Celtic, and the many fine musicians I have come to love on the Cloud, some I have been privileged to collaborate with. Violinist, pianist, chamber and orchestral musician, devoted to composing neo-classical music. 

I want to weave a gentle, emotional orchestral language, that speaks about live and touches the heart. I try to capture these ephemeral, timeless, and moving moments, transcribing them with devotion to sound and recording them in the sound studio.

Hello. I love different kind of music and try no to stay in a comfortable style. In a song my priorities go to melody and harmony but what counts in the end is the emotional impact of the song. I do everything by myself with my DAW and i am therefore also interested by tips in mixing or on composition. I'd be glad to share advises and receive feedback and comments. Wish you all the joy and pleasure that only music can bring. 

Those who inspired me and who always have a special place in my mind for their whole creation and their wonderful melodies : Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush. I tried some covers to remember some of their songs.

I must say that i am a bit disapointed by GenAI nowadays applied to artistic creation. I think there is already too many sounds on soundcloud that was one of the last place for 'real' artists, i mean human. This is so easy and quick to release something that it will soon overwhelm and discourage all newcomers and I really hate to be cheated by an AI when i listen to a voice. When i was young the promese about robots was to make them do what was painfull and what we dislike (hard and dangerous physical work), but never art ! And now we will soon have machine to have fun and we will keep the hard work

Best described as eclectic, my style is a soothing mix mirroring my personality: mostly mellow with the occasional outburst. Although I have a background in classical piano I have always loved to create and improvise.  Since early childhood I have been trying to duplicate on the piano what I hear in my head.  Now I see how formal studies and improvisation fit together perfectly. I hope to always keep growing and learning, reflecting the beauty of Christ in all my endeavors. Only Piano (Chris Matsikoudis) is a contemporary pianist / composer from Athens, Greece. His childhood influences were Classical composers and later listening to a lot of genres mainly Pop to Hard Rock, AOR, Progressive Metal and film scores. He early on fell in love with the piano sound through the works of Chopin, Lizst, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and later listening to pianists like Yanni, Giorgos Hatzinasios, Jordan Rudess, Keith Jarrett, David Foster, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, Stavros Lantsias, Chick Corea, Glenn Gould, Bill Evans and Brad Mehldau. All of these pianists and later mentors shaped the Only Piano sound. He started as a self-taught musician at the age of 11 with a PC-1000 Portatone Yamaha Keyboard. He later joined the National Conservatory, starting classical piano but this path wasn’t for him. He briefly studied with notable teachers like Julie Troussa (Piano Technique) at Skalkota Conservatory, Manolis Papasifakis (Jazz Hanon) at NTUA musical dpt and Alkis Tsertsetis (Classical Theory and Harmony) at National Conservatory.  Later on he was devoted to Jazz, studying Modal Jazz Harmony with legendary Jazz pianist Marcos Alexiou and Jazz Technique and Standards with the famous Jazz pianist George Psychogios. Meanwhile he was performing live at several Venues in Greece with a variety of Greek bands: Acrobates (Greek Rock), Intravenous (Ethnic Jazz), Big Trouble (R&B) and gave sporadically some solo concerts. In 2011 he co-established the Fusion band "Nagare" which produced an LP with the homonym title in 2018. The band is still active and preparing their second album. Only Piano continues his musical research through various publications and online courses and he has already produced 3 LP’s: In the Loop (2021), Love (2022), Maturity (2023)
