Our podcast series continues, this month’s story is told by Taguari.

Oslo-based, Raphael is a passionate DJ and music collector. His journeys are invitations into hypnotic organic worlds, full of psychedelic landscapes, deep ambient atmospheres, or energetic drumbeats. 

His creations can be found on labels and podcast channels such as Navigare Audio, Cellar Door, or Crescent London. He is also the host of the "Blendet Series" podcast, a platform where producers & DJ’s can celebrate, honor, and esteem the full album format of artists they admire. As consumption becomes faster and more and more focus tends to move toward big platforms, where the Music industry seems to dictate and control the behavior of consumers' true algorithms and clicks. ‘’Blendet Series’’ wants to resurrect the emotional bridge that an Album can build between the creator and the listener. And show producers around the globe how much we all appreciate their work.

"My motivation as a DJ is to connect people's true movement with each other, within themselves, and with nature. I like to mix in my journeys different styles of hypnotic music, and bring joy and happiness to the dance floor or from time to time periods of wild ecstatic textures and impulsive dark atmospheres"

For our eight instalment we’ve invited XÂRTE, a talented young DJ coming from the Netherlands.

His musical journey started at the end of 2020 after a music-filled summer with friends. He started digging deeper into the world of techno before he eventually decided to get himself some gear and started DJing. Since that day his musical progress has graced renowned venues like BASIS and The Melkweg, and he's caught the attention of organizations like ALU and Ypnotika.  

His sound is a captivating blend of rhythms and deep, abstract textures, and by layering records, they craft a vibe that immerses the dance floor in an unforgettable musical experience.

Some words by XÂRTE about his mix:
This set is a musical journey inspired by my unforgettable visit to Draaimolen festival this year. The Aura stage was a captivating realm where numerous DJs left an indelible mark on my soul. The fusion of lights, ambiance, and the music, reached deep into my body and provoked some emotions within me.

Among the remarkable performances, the influence of Arkajo and Dorisburg's set stands out most prominent. Their music resonated with me in a unique way, leaving an imprint on my creative spirit that I couldn't ignore. 

This set is a tribute to the magic of what happend at Draaimolen festival, and in patricular that night in the forest at the stage called Aura.

RON L is part of Embodiment, an organization that focusses on different spectrums of electronic music and is originally based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. For the past few get-togethers they set foot in Amsterdam to further explore the Dutch scene and to inspire the participants with a challenging sound.

With this recording RON L wanted to translate the past and the present into a set. DJ-ing for over 5 years he came in contact with several styles within electronic music and RON L thought this was a great moment to dig deeper into his music collection to create a trip down memory lane to build an emotional bond with the audience while also remaining in the present using some recent releases.

Into The Abyss #049 | Ópalo

Ópalo is the alias of the DJ/musician and producer Alejandro Romero. The objective of this name is to give a concept to the experimental, downtempo and ambient style music proposed by the artist. With this alias Ópalo he has already released an LP on his own label 'Caracteres'. For his live performances Ópalo uses two formats, a DJ set or a live set. Their DJ sets are known for mixing music from various eras, especially experimental concepts within downtempo. His live sets take on a rather introspective sense where the artist takes the opportunity to show his processes within the studio when composing. In retrospect Ópalo is a project that proposes deep, urban sounds with human content using a futuristic language that at the same time recycles elements from the past, especially nineties music.

Drawn towards generative art and Techno in its different variations, he crafted us with an hour of intense, deep and atmospheric textures for Plor.
